what if they start talking to you on twitter or FB?

what if you respond?

I dont wanna get anyone in trouble - especially OU.

Fans from Kansas and Kentucky are still contacting Trae on Twitter in an effort to lure him away from OU. I doubt if it's against NCAA rules because it would be almost impossible to control. Still, it's a good idea to be sure. Maybe someone in the know can answer that question?

Ada, I'm pretty sure it's not an NCAA violation as tons of fans do it and there's no way to regulate it. But, i'm pretty sure it sets off loud sirens in the how not to be a douchebag rulebook.

I thought it was "technically" against the rules, hence a tweet a couple years ago from OU compliance saying "don't tweet at recruits" but it's a rule that no one follows.

It's a rule but it's unenforceable... Tweet away!

I know right? We're trying to land this kid, not send him running for the hills.

yes, I am sure saying "good luck with your decision" will send him running for the hills.

I think you should just be quiet when I say things. you have no objectivity at all. I asked a simple and reasonable question.

Oh look, they're getting snarky with one another again.

If you had "before lunch on Saturday" on the weekend parlay, please proceed to the window to collect your winnings.

While I hardly ever agree with the content of CoolM's posts, it's the other two who start with the personal attacks on every single thread, and frankly would not at all be sad to see them go.

Don't worry, if they continue to do it you'll see them go. I said I was sick of crap like that and I meant every word! There is absolutely nothing wrong with Coolm's question.

I am sorry. I am not trying to play "the innocent" or anything. I have a legitimate question ...

I thought the visit was LAST weekend so when I heard I did a search on twitter and said something like

"I know OU and many other schools would love to have you. Good luck with your decision."

He answered me and followed me on twitter. And I dont want to get OU or me or him or the coach or anyone in trouble. It was just a civil greeting but who knows any more. I dont thats why I asked.

I'm sure that's fine and you should be commended IMO for not being pushy. I'm sure players in these situations like the support of fans but don't want to feel like they're dealing with a used car salesman.

God knows comments like that are better than what some players get on social media.

This is slightly off-topic so I'll ask for forgiveness in advance but has anyone else read about what many Kentucky fans did to the referee who worked their game against UNC? He owns a roofing company in Omaha and they created a lot of phony bad reviews and literally hurt his business because they weren't happy with a couple calls. Disgraceful behavior from fans.

The official is John Higgins, thought to be one of the best officials in the game. He has called a number of OU games over the years. His father, Tim Higgins, was an official for many years, mostly in the Big East, but he also officiated in the Big Eight/Twelve and some other conferences.

The behavior of the Kentucky fans who went after John Higgins was deplorable at best, and likely criminal. I hope the investigation reveals their identity and they are prosecuted to the extent of the law! U.K. Fans everywhere should be embarrassed by a few cowards who chose to hide behind social media!
