Lots of retrospective second guessing about why patty didn't hold coor at third, I think sending her was right choice, she's very fast and it took a great play to get her, give vols some credit they are very good. If she holds her at third and then we ground into DP people are screaming WHY NOT SEND HER?? Now I think you can question, even though we all know you can't question the GOAT, why didn't Dayton bunt with Coor on first and no outs? If she gets Hannah to second, she likely takes third on MM's hit and scores easily on Pickerings single. Yes she had homered, but she was swinging to slap not homer, so why not bunt?

I see it a little different… yes, great def play by Tenn… BUT…

Bases loaded 1 out… anything in the outfield gives ya a tag up.

Easy to 2nd guess as you said.

I was frustrated but in reality we are 31-2 top 3… with basically a new team/pitching staff. Not bad.

Hopefully we can get to the series. Sec is loaded.

Won today, win tomorrow take the series.

Well, down to 3 outs… took the lead even gave up 5 runs. Crazy.. you’d think our best pitcher would have done better, she’s given up 10 runs in 13 innings

We didn't do a good job in the clutch either offensively or pitching. Two outs and none on can't lead to a 5 run inning. But it did. Start with a walk-HPU was again very inconsistent. Grounder up the middle Garcia couldn't get to. Another walk and a 2 run double, then on the first pitch a 3 run homer- on a change up. We had gotten into the pattern of the first pitch was typically a change up, this one hung and the batter was looking for it. But our offensive woes are worse, we have at least 1/2 of our starting lineup that is basically an automatic out every time- you can't win like that. Fortunately not everyone has a pitcher like Pickens.
My concern is except for Garcia, none of the young pups seem to be getting any time- MM is a redshirt not a true freshman, although she didn't play last year she was around for the Natty. Are they just not able to break into the lineup or are they not as good as advertised? And several of our transfers are struggling to say the least. But its a long season and along way to go, hopefully we will pick it up. If we got Lowery back that would help. And hopefully the KD of yesterday will make more appearances.

Ya, little frustrated that it seems… our ace, had a couple of really bad innings. Pitching staff isn’t deep…
Batting, we really seem to just look at great pitches.. we didn’t seem to adjust that blue was calling them low..

Really doesn’t matter what the batter thinks is a strike or not… it’s what blue is calling.

Long season, rebuild… hopefully then end will be good.

I watched the highlights fo the bedlam game this morning.....great game by the sooners.
In the top of the fourth inning, Sanders stepped off the bag and on a throw from the infield, loading the bases.
Am I wrong in that she needs to work on stretching towards the throw or was it just offline enought to pull her from the bag?

yeah i watched the game last night and before the 4th was a bit concerned but Maya Bland hit a HUGE 3-run bomb and then the floodgates opened. OSU is STRUGGLING this season, so this win isn't as big as it would have been in prior seasons, but still a good win that hopefully propels us and gives us some momentum moving into the Bama series.

“Bit concerned”… lol I was a little more than that.

Last yr I never even thought about it being “over” until it was. The team just seemed to always find a way.

The obvious I know…

With all the turnover this year I was concerned.. great game and great learning for the young ones.

Can’t stand Kenny… dude has some major “patty envy”. Weird considering he actually won a NC at OU while playing baseball and coaching under Patty.

Crappy weekend at bama… lots of questions.

My biggest is up 3-0 in a lot of counts we just take 2 k pitches right due the middle. Happened a lot this weekend.

Every batter should have the green light. Got a major hitting funk going

yeah, agree on the hitting slump, but idk if it's because we're coming across good pitchers or we're just slumping, as far as the freshmen and new transfer players go. Two things I've noticed: Sanders & Dayton BOTH came into this program as elite hitters and have both performed way below expectations (both are at about .300 now). Not sure if Emerling was always this bad at the plate, but I saw a stat reflecting she'd had 23 hits and 20 strikeouts for the season, which is def not good. Is JT failing these transfers??

Our only good (not great) pitcher is Landry, however even she can't hold off teams every game. I thought Deal might have something going after the Tenn game #2, but she proved at Bama she's just not good enough, at least consistently. I think Smith has been a dud as well, unfortunately. Can Lowery step up and be our #2 arm?

Unless we completely turn things around on the mound and at the plate this team could very well get beat our earlier in the post season than anyone wants, but this is a rebuilding season, after all. Still about a month of games before postseason, so we will see...

Your comment about consistency is the big thing this young team has been lacking all year, in every phase of the game. They are young and they will improve but probably not fast enough for our most unrealistic fans.

We've really struggled for most of the season getting a clutch hit. We were pretty atrocious for the Bama series with runners on base.

Not to make excuses, but in game 3, the strike zone was very VERY low -- for both teams, but it benefitted Bama more. We seemed to have no idea what to swing at when balls just below the knees were called as strikes. But alas, we still had chances to win. In the top of the 7th, we had the bases loaded + one out with the top of the lineup due up. All Pickering needed to do was get the ball to the outfield and we'd likely have won. Had another chance in the 8th too.

We're going to need to play a LOT better and win win lots of games against teams ranked higher than Bama (Miss St, texas, Florida) to ensure we host a super regional. That is not guaranteed.

Good grief, another 4-0 lead off inning for Miss st..

Got the win earlier today..won the series but be nice to sweep with what we have coming up
