Vols take game 1, 5-2.
“Bit concerned”… lol I was a little more than that.yeah i watched the game last night and before the 4th was a bit concerned but Maya Bland hit a HUGE 3-run bomb and then the floodgates opened. OSU is STRUGGLING this season, so this win isn't as big as it would have been in prior seasons, but still a good win that hopefully propels us and gives us some momentum moving into the Bama series.
Your comment about consistency is the big thing this young team has been lacking all year, in every phase of the game. They are young and they will improve but probably not fast enough for our most unrealistic fans.yeah, agree on the hitting slump, but idk if it's because we're coming across good pitchers or we're just slumping, as far as the freshmen and new transfer players go. Two things I've noticed: Sanders & Dayton BOTH came into this program as elite hitters and have both performed way below expectations (both are at about .300 now). Not sure if Emerling was always this bad at the plate, but I saw a stat reflecting she'd had 23 hits and 20 strikeouts for the season, which is def not good. Is JT failing these transfers??
Our only good (not great) pitcher is Landry, however even she can't hold off teams every game. I thought Deal might have something going after the Tenn game #2, but she proved at Bama she's just not good enough, at least consistently. I think Smith has been a dud as well, unfortunately. Can Lowery step up and be our #2 arm?
Unless we completely turn things around on the mound and at the plate this team could very well get beat our earlier in the post season than anyone wants, but this is a rebuilding season, after all. Still about a month of games before postseason, so we will see...
lol crazy… glad we ended up with moreGals win 9-6. 8 total HR’s between the 2 teams.
