The last game of the Mary Nutter tournament for OU is at noon against Notre Dame. The Irish have played a tough schedule. But, their record isn't all that good. They are only 5-8, but they have wins over Georgia and Michigan.

It is likely that we will see Paige Lowary. The two Paiges have started the five games that we have played against top twenty-five teams. In those games, the total runs scored against us has been eight. They can shut down the opposition pretty well. Now that our bats are awakening, we may challenge last year's team. They were 8-4 at this point. We are 9-3. They had played three top 25 teams and lost all three. We are 2-3 this year.

Notre Dame beat Sooners 5-4. Parker takes the loss in relief Sooners surrendered 2 HR's. Notre Dame came from down 4-3 with 1 run in the 6th an 1 in the 7th. Sooners left 10 on base. Had 7 hits and 5 BB's. Notre Dame had 3 errors.

OU down to ninth.

This poll would suggest that it isn't wise to schedule too tough.

1. Florida State was 10-0, never having left Tallahassee. Dropped their first game on the road to Texas A&M in the Nutter. Still first with the one loss.

2. Auburn was 3-1 that first weekend in Puerto Vallarta. Then, they went home for the duration, finally losing to James Madison for their second loss. Played a lot of Mass-Lowell type teams.

3. Florida has never left Florida or the easy marks, but they still managed to lose one game, to an 0-8 Maryland team.

4. Oregon's strongest opponent, the only team you have ever heard of, was Kentucky. The rest were a lot of batting practice fodder.

5. Texas A&M did OK this weekend. But, they played their first twelve games at home against the Stephen F Austin's of the world. Let's see how they do with a target.

6. Arizona has been having fun in the sun at home, playing one game against a ranked opponent, and losing.

7. UCLA has actually played a solid schedule and has won most of them. They have losses to Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Florida State

8. Washington has done pretty well, beating Oklahoma and Texas. They lost to BYU and Missouri? Really?

UCLA and OU were the only teams to play all their games on the same field. Day 1, the wind was straight in the batters face, not so. Much days 2 & 3.

LSU looked very good.

We beat Tennessee if Kelsey isn't under the weather. She made several very uncharacteristic mistakes, which must have been due to illness.

The Ump in the Notre Dame game was awful. She was horribly inconsistent with her strike zone.

Dalton is a really good athlete. Reminds me of CC. Vanessa is an excellent designated hitter. Mariah is going to be really good. Great freshman class.

Macie and Falle give us two good options for right field. Rogers showed she can bat.

Paige Lowary throws hard. She could be a closer for Mariah as well as a starter.

Shay's grand slam was crushed. I was on my feet a nano second after she hit it knowing it was gone.

Loved watching some of the back-ups get to play and hit. I wouldn't be concerned about the losses. These girls are very talented. They are everyone's circled game. Just need to get used to that and let the game come to them.

Palm Springs facilities were nice. Lots of teams, but some played 5 games without a known opponent. You don't win this tourney, so the smart thing is to use it for development of the team,

Thanks for report!

I just wonder if this team is having to learn to play under pressure (being the hunted) as last year, they really had no pressure, so to speak. There were really no expectations of fans, etc to win it all. And they did!

Anybody noticed that Paige Parker is no longer doing the twist move in her pitching motion. It is obvious that the hitters are picking up the ball easier - she is giving up Homers left and right. Wichita just hit the seventh homer off Paige this year for a 3-2 lead. She has lost as many games this year as she did last year.

OU beats NW State 3-0 with one run unearned. Left 16 runners on base in 6 innings. Failed to leave the bases loaded only twice. Parker K's 11.

Down 3-0 after two and a half, OU scored 8 in the third and 5 in the fourth to beat Evansville, 13-3 (5).

Mariah Lopez pitched a couple of good innings. Very poised for a freshman.
