the SoonerClub has upped the pregame "tailgate" in the courtside club this year now free soda and better food through out the season ....

but the best new thing is that a AST coach will give a pregame talk before every game all season long..

yesterday was coach Henson .. he talked about how well the team is coming together and how hard they are working and that he thinks everyone is buying in to Coach Kruger's program

talked about how Coach is "doing what he does" meeting with groups and fans and slowing building (rebuilding in our case) the fan base...

and that he is excited to see how good this team can be ..

then he took some questions ... and i was able to ask him about Cole/Henry

Henry *might be able to come in at semester ... he has to get through the clearing house and a few other things right now they just don't know
if he comes in they will decide if he can help this year most likely he would RS the spring semester

Cole is a guy they really like very smart team guy with a lot of upside .. plan is for him to come in and RS his first year .. and because he is going to RS he is a possible athletic scholarship for his first year .. his second year he will be on athletic ship .. .... his athletic/non athletic scholarship next year depends on .....

we might sign 1 more player in the late signing period ... best player we can find if we think they can fill a need and help the team next season .. if we don't Cole will get the Bball ship next year

Good information. Sounds like this may be a good source for the future.

Thanks, Boulder! Nice job in getting our questions about Newell's scholarship answered. I'm fine with giving it to Cole if a good player is not available in the late signing period.

Be nice if they found another big in the spring that could help.

A HS guy would be ideal but a really athletic long JUCO big would be fine too.

Redshirting Henry is a real dilemma if he's eligible to play.
Team is projecting much closer to an NIT bid than preseason projections. Getting to any postseason tourney would be a huge morale/publicity/recruiting boost to the program.
Would indicate to the HS juniors that we are recruiting that Kruger has quickly righted the program and OU will be back in the NCAAs.
And the bench has lost a big time scoring threat in Newell. Henry could be a huge spark off the bench in terms of athleticism and scoring.

I will be very disappointed if they don't redshirt Henry.
