THIS SATURDAY 1:30-4:30pm in the Lloyd Noble parking lot the Capelables will be collecting yOUr old/used shoes and donating them to orphans in Kenya. Any & all sizes, colors, and styles are being accepted and greatly appreciated.

The rule I use when going through my shoes: If I haven't worn them in over a year, I probably never will again. So why not donate them to children and young adults in Kenya who are not fortunate enough to have a pair of shoes to walk to school in or play in? The small gesture of donating one pair of your used shoes is a very strong power of one and you'll be making a child's life better.

This project was started by a 6th grader at an Oklahoma City middle school. He collected 5,000 shoes from the OKC/Norman area and Feed the Children matched his donation and donated 5,000 pairs of Crocs to Kenyan orphans. That's 10,000 pairs of shoes! If a young boy can see the need, help, and make an impact that big-think of what the OU community can do! :tinypower

The Capelables will be on the North side of LNC with signs, boxes, volunteers, and shoes! So stop by and dump your shoes!

Here is the YouTube video of how the shoe dump got started: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ninx1kLKSwU[/ame]

There is also a Facebook group! Please spread the word to your friends! This event is open to anyone willing to donate their old shoes.
