Guys, here's another free article from Scout.com's Sooner Illustrated site. Justin Hite is doing a great job over there in covering OU basketball.

This is a nice read about a future Sooner who should have an immediate impact next year. His size alone, at 7 feet tall with long arms, should give him a command in the paint like no player we have had in years.

I'm excited about this year's team. But, man, I am some kind of pumped about what next year could bring!

His highlights show signs of being very athletic and has good movement up and down the court. Very excited!:OUbball-logo:

He will be different from anybody we have had here probably ever. The guy is a giant. It is possible he will be one and done.

What if Thomas doesn't get his waiver? Will it just be a 3 man rotation in the post with each player getting 25-30 minutes, and Lattin and McNease playing very little spot time?

If thomas doesn't play this year... Who sits? Thomas is better than Spangler, Manyang is a player that doesn't come to be a back up... Crazy if Spangler comes off the bench his senior year.

I think Manyang comes off the bench but plays starter minutes ... He's a unique player for sure, but you don't bench two all conference post players with proven careers to play this guy unless he is top 10 draft pick material from day one.

The people who are really impacted by the thomas decision are mcneace and lattin. If Thomas stays, Mcneace might not play until his redshirt soph year.

Also, I would hate to paint him as one and done until he gets on campus. You just never know.

AK is the real deal. Div-I ready now. Coaches around the nation are seeing this.

Great pickup by the staff. Not as sexy as a Top 10, 5-Star freshman, but could have that type of impact on the team.

Well, if Buddy leaves like some have suggested, then I think you could see a BIG lineup of Woodard, Cousins, Spangler, Thomas, and Manyang

Would love to see:

Woodard
Buddy
Cousins
Lattin
Manyang

Even if Thomas & Spangler were still around. That would mean A) the best case upside for Lattin had materialized B) Manyang really was an NBA caliber 1 & doner C) our second unit would be a beast with Spangler, Thomas, Booker, Buford & whoever else.

That truly would be a legit potential final 4 team.

Those 3 won't start together. Can't happen

This. Never thought I'd say this but, under that scenario, the Spangler Banger comes off the bench next season.

Spangler and Thomas(if not elgible this year) won't be coming off the bench next year.

Here I go again..replying to boca... Saying Lattin over Spangler and that's next year is just plain stupid. If that happens I'll buy you your favorite steak! Twice

Manyang will start

Coach, I agree with you 99% of the time, but if Thomas and Spangler are around -- both will be all conference calibre players with a proven pedigree at this level. There is no way you keep those guys from starting.

If Manyang is good enough to start over Spangler, we will have the best frontcourt in the country.

I'm not putting stock into any juco post player being a huge contributor. Its a big transition from juco to D1. We can barely get juco post players to crack our lineups who were good juco players and yet some of you think that this guy is going to come in and start over Thomas and Spangler or even Lattin. Like Lattin won't be better as a sophmore after playing D1 for a year. There hasn't been a good Juco post player in D1 in a long time. Maybe Ricardo Ratliffe.
