Is it Josh Cunningham or bust? Or are we still looking for a potential PG as well?

There is a guy on Rivals that sometimes posts, but has given what has turned out to pretty much always be dead on info regarding recruiting. He did give a wink on Tum Tum but I really do think he had all but committed to OU until Izzo came knocking. Early on he gave OU's 4 main targets as: Lattin, Buford, Cunningham, and Nairn. So, spot on accurate.

I believe he said Lon and crew were looking at a juco PG to spell Woodard and I believe he said a juco big in Florida maybe? Can't remember precisely. I don't remember anything about Cunningham. I think at one time OU thought they had him, but like Gary has said he's very indecisive. May have something to do with distance, ex-coaches at Bradley, or something like that..

Juco's seem problematic for this class because Heild, Hornbeak, Cousins and Spangler are all in the same class.

Are OU and Josh Cunningham still talking? I didn't know if Dante Buford's signing ended that. I see Cunningham and Butler being mentioned a lot. It sounds like he may stay home.

Any Juco PG names being mentioned?

I would prefer to go to a high school point guard instead of a JC. The back up point will not get a ton of minutes, and hornbeck can play back up some if needed. This would then give of 4 years of a point guard instead of 2 for a back up. Now I am assuming we more then likely will not get a future starter at this point, but a four year back up point guard would not be a bad thing to have.

I asked the other day if we were still in on Cunningham. I was told, " yes, he fits well with what we are trying to do." In trying to read more into what I was actually told, I sensed that there wasn't an urgency for Cunningham.

See, I think that makes a JUCO perfect for this class. We're set up to make a run at the conference championship and a deep tournament run that year. Want every piece in place for that year, and don't want to worry about a roster spot down the line at the expense of providing necessary depth.
