Maddie (There really isn't another choice, even if Sherri wanted to)

Mulkey better get a lot better. Anyone think EJ or Simpson can crack that starting line-up? I say no. Sherri will want senior leadership.

I'd love to see EJ get some more time, but she's too athletic sherri doesn't like athletic girls

Vivi
-----let's hope they figure out how to use Nancy. Could be a good rotation.

Maddie
Chelsea
Ana
Gabbi

I look for a rotation with Shaina involved, in which case Gabbi switches to SG. Shaina can also be a shooting guard.

Rich---we still don't know why she was so highly rated.
Penzo---she's still only 19, and she should be over her ACL by then.

OH,

Why do you dislike Chelsea so much? She looked really good tonight. Are you somehow blaming her for our loss tonight? That makes no sense to me.

Oh, not at all. I like Chelsea a lot. just didn't think Sherri would bench Maddie.

Coach likes a four-guard small line up though. She's played it in the past.

Rich is enigma to me. Supposed to be best shooter on team. If true, how do you keep her on bench? You can't, especially with a freshman dominate squad.

I'm also puzzled about Rich. But the fact is, SC did keep her on the bench all year. The question is why? I for one can't possibly think she would do that if she was actually the best shooter.

Yet...... Derica plays less all the time - and she is the best shooter.

If you can't do anything but stand there and shoot the ball it's hard to play in a motion free offense. The few times rich was in she turned it over in this offense all kids are able to dribble drive pass shoot or score it other than maybe a big. That makes it hard for maybe a derica. I think rich is fully capable to all those things but it's hard to be in rhythm getting 2 min a game - this offense is dependent on rhythm not a ton of ball screens more dribble drive actions. I like it I just think OU has to get offense from defense that is what top tier teams can do that way when the ball wont fall they can still produce

I hope Mulkey will hang around for the long hall...

The problem is, we don't have anyone who can play the Post with any authority, Vivi seems to be to unsure of herself and Nancy is just tall, she needs to put on some weight so that she can push her way around

Personally for the long term benefit of the team I would like to see Maddie graduate and move on. Focus on a high/low post game with Vivi/Mulkey or Vivi/Idimgbe and let them develop. Giving up Maddie's 30 minutes of court time would allow Nancy and Ijeoma to develop more rapidly and make for a more complete team in 2019 and 2020.

Such a strategy would necessitate targeting 2018 as a development year with the goal to be a serious contender for the conference championship in 2020 or remotely in 2019. To achieve this goal would also necessitate Sherri bring in more top talent in 2018 and 2019 for depth but I think it can be done.

With Maddie leading the team in 2018 I see the Sooners as a middle of the pack team contending for third place at best and delaying the development of both Mulkey and Idimgbe. I do not see the reserve depth necessary to be a serious contender. I just don't see Penzo, Rich or Williams making major contributions off the bench like Dungee this year. Pellington and Simpson could provide some help but at this point in time they are very much unproven freshmen. Moreover, there is no reason to expect them to perform like an Ortiz, Dungee or Llanusa coming out of high school.

Need someone to play defense. Gave up 293 points in our last 3 losses this year.

I say
Mulkey
Manning
Llanusa
Dungee
Ortiz

ViVi should be starting but I can't see Mulkey being benched again, maybe Sherri wanted to mix things so she started ViVi but I wouldn't be shock if Mulkey pretty much has a promising starting spot going forward...

With Dungee a full time starter and Llanusa in the starting line up, OU just got that much more Athletic out on the wing and could potentially match up well with Texas and Baylor. Watching some of Llanusa highlights she has great foot work and a lot of little crafty moves no one else on the team has... she should really bring a new dynamic to the offense...

And what does fans expressing their opinions on OU WBB board designed for that purpose have in common with our players expressing themselve to the media in a press conference. Mutually exclusive events with no relationship to each other.

Another example of the Syb thinking he is the only one entitled to define what is right for others by comparing apples to oranges.
