Bet you thought I was tired of starting Pledger threads. Well, think again. I'll gladly start a thread to recognize his great play, as long as he continues to perform like he did today.

Stat line shows 22 points on 9 of 12 shooting (3 of 5 from three) to go with 3 rebs, 2 assists and 2 steals. I didn't like the 5 TOs. But I'll give him a pass, because he played pretty darned good defense to make up for it.

Another fine game for a player who is beginning to look like an all-conference candidate, at least on the second or third team level.

Pledger is going to have a few 30 point games this year, mark it down.

:clap:clap:clap

As you know there are a couple of people here who will keep saying he shouldn't start, they aren't convinced, blah, blah, blah.....

Well 4get them!!!!! :):) The kid is playing some awesome ball on both ends of the floor.:clap:clap

I will eat my crow on this... i thought he wasnt that good, but he has been arguably the best guy playing shooting guard for any team in the big 12. If he keeps this up he will be 1st team all conference for sure.

I'm just sad he had to put up with two years of Capel coaching him. If he starts off with a coach like LK, who knows what his career would have looked like. Oh well.

Well, the good thing is his career is far from over. He couldn't care less about Capel at this point, and neither should we.....

SP still ballin'!!!!!:clap:clap

I think Pledger is one of the more underappreciated Sooners at this point because he will end up having a pretty good career. He was a highly ranked recruit and has improved his confidence. He was the man today.

Here's a few clips of Pledge and the gang last time we beat Arkanasas and Mike Anderson. Looked a bit like today, except his shot is quicker now.

Pledger had a very good game today and really helped us with his outside shooting. So far, he's been our most consistent offensive player and has taken his play to a new level on offense and defense.

Getting dirty inside, attitude, energy and defense. If he had pg handles he would be perfect. Well done Steven

He did play well today and nobody is happier about it than me.

Those of us who hadn't been impressed with him to this point had good reason. But I am beginning to think he was just a product of the environment.

Pledger is the greatest. He is a lock for first team all conference. If he continues his present pace thru the end of the season, he may even end up being a first round draft choice.

I have been completely wrong about his abilities and potential.

I think his biggest improvement is his defense. It wouldnt surprise me if that hasnt led to his offensive improvement.

First round.... Probably not... But he's becoming a good player at OU

You may be right. It's probably helped keep him in the game mentally which will help all facets of his game.

His defensive play has surprised me.
