Interesting read by Bob Pryzbolo over at Sooner Nation. Clark is thinking about leaving the state for his senior year and going to prep school (possibly Oak Hill).

Sam/Will, have you guys heard anything on this?

BTW, if you don't have a subscription over there check it out. They are doing a great job of football recruiting coverage, and work hoops recruiting coverage much harder than any of the other pay sites. It's also the cheapest deal (I think).

Read that this morning. Seems like an odd decision, and one that probably doesn't help OU with Stevie. I'm starting to get the feeling that Mama Clark might be a bit overzealous. They were "upset" that the new OC Douglas (I think) bball coach hadn't called them yet. Seems weird to me. My HS changed basketball coaches all 4 years I was there, and the new coach never called anybody. This is HS ball, not AAU ball. Strange.

You probably were not one of the top 100 players in the nation that had mentioned leaving high school early

I'd predict he'll end up at Douglass when they start school in August.

Doesn't matter. HS coaches are paid to show up, teach class, and coach whomever comes out for the team. In no way, shape, or form would I ever expect a new HC, in that position, to "call" a player before the season started.

We agree again. If I could just get you turned around on Pledger, oh well. Douglas HS has been around since the 1800's. They have put alot of good teams on the floor and alot of good players have come thru there over the years.

Stevie is just another and won't be the last good player from Douglas. If he wants to play at Douglas next season, he should probably just show up for the 1st practice and quit trying to draw so much attention to himself. Everyone that needs to know already knows he is a good player.

I think I am already past the Clark news. I am sure he is a good kid and I hope he does well and his dreams come true etc. Also, I would happily accept him as a Sooner but I am just at a point where I do not see it. Although all circumstances are different this kid is giving me a Jai Lucas kinda vibe as far as his recruitment is going. Im not sure what the means exactly its just a feeling.

I agree. The way a person handles themselves during adversity can tell you a lot. I don't know Clark from Adam, but from a distance and the outside it can appear that he may be a little selfish. His high school coach leaves and all of a sudden he's leaving high school early, going to prep school, etc. I wonder what his Douglas teammates think? IF he signed with OU and something happened that Lon left before his eligibilty were over, would he try to leave again? Like I said, I don't know Steve and wish him the absolute best and hope he chooses OU but from afar, these things have to make you wonder.
