Storming The Floor

I have a picture of myself my brother and 4 friends on the court.

Hell, maybe I was, too. I remember a game where about 10 people got on the court and security/cops stopped everyone else. Maybe that was it.

Yea it was very similiar to yesterdays "storming" it was more of a leaking

I keep seeing mention (including in a Norman Transcript story) of the fact that KU had two straight losses entering yesterday's game, as some sort of justification, it seems, for downgrading our win.

Well, what doesn't get mentioned, of course, is that we also entered the game on a two-game losing streak.

Or the fact that those two losses meant KU was as focused as possible to get a win

The CSC folks seemed to cause more liability for injury than if they would have just let it happen. I saw students being grabbed as they ran by at full speed, and heard someone got hit on the head with a walkie-talkie. Meanwhile, once they were on the court, it was like a party. It's not like the players weren't loving it, especially Buddy. Coach Kruger even tweeted that the players had fun celebrating with the fans. So while there aren't any games left this year that would allow a storming (short of the season finale, if it clinches a conference title somehow), I think yesterday's was absolutely justified.

Also: CSC put itself in a very bad position. When your one job is to prevent a court storming, and it happens anyway, then it makes your organization look weak. When a court storming is imminent, just get out of the way and use your people-watching "skills" to scan the crowd and make sure no one's being trampled!

But I saw one Internet report that Bill Self "rolled his eyes" when he saw the home crowd's reaction. The gist of the article was that Self thought it was classless for the OU fans to react that way to beating a KU team that had just dropped its third game in a row. For what it's worth, I think Self is the classless one, especially after the way he tried to get the officials to give Cam Clark a technical for that phantom elbow in the closing seconds of the game. I know lots of people in our state think Self is one of the best coaches in the U.S., but I think he's an arrogant and condescending jerk.

Yeah, I saw that eye roll as they were storming the court... I tend to think that he rolled his eyes because it was the second time in two games where the court was stormed. But hey, when you are KU in basketball, you have to be expecting that one... It's just like us in FB, we have a target on our back.

Also, I think the storming the court issue shows two things: 1. This is how far our program has fallen. 2. But it also shows where our program is headed.
I'm pumped! :woot
