And why would Deondrei not take offense if people were ripping his little brother, especially with personal stuff about the drugs? Just because people make classless personal attacks regularly on athletes doesn't mean it should be acceptable behavior, or that you shouldn't be mad if it's directed at your family member.

Could you be any more dramatic?

It is hardly a "classless personal attack" to have good natured fun with a player on the team of your biggest basketball rival. It's not like they are making fun of a deformity, a cancer stricken brother, or a dead mother. THAT is classless. Busting a kid's chops b/c he likes to smoke a little mary jane is just good natured fun in trying to take a kid out of his game.

Sheesh.

Will be in attendance and with OU football coaches. He is between OU and LSU. Mom wants him at OU very, very bad. Please, help keep it clean with the chants directed toward him. During our time as students we chanted we want Reggie and we want Gerald. Both had great careers at OU. A we want Deondre would be great!

Before I get blasted on here, I can tell you I have sat in E3 for years. Even before my college years. Family has been season ticket holders for football and bball since before I was born. Dre is a big get for OU.

That said, I'm stoked for this evening. Can't wait! Boomer Sooner! Let's continue the beating at the LNC on the pokes!

This is an interesting detail in Deondre's recruiting. Say what you will about their mom or Stevie's recruiting. I believe Deondre is a special talent and a far better prospect than Stevie ever would hope to be. I think he could become a big time pass rushing OLB and in a lot of ways would be a symbolic get for the football program. I'm not saying lay off Stevie or do a Deondre chant. It's just that he is coming off an OV to LSU and now going to a big Bedlam match-up. Sometimes it's who gets the last shot in these deals. A big win may have just got that much more important.

Deondre can either come to OU and win championships or go to LSU and watch OU win championships.

If he gets offended that his brother gets heckled for being an Aggot he may not cut the mustard anyhow.

I for one will be disappointed if there isn't a "just say no" chant if Stevie gets to the foul line.

Just because it's less classless than other behavior doesn't make it acceptable.

Look, I'm not trying to sit on a high horse. I have made fun of the personal and legal problems of opposing players before, and I admittedly wouldn't be here saying people shouldn't do it the family of a recruit was not going to be in attendance. that may make me a hypocrite, but whatever.

Making things personal, and not about basketball, is a classless move for chants at an 18 year old kid.

It may be classless. But, for the students it is fun and funny. They can acquire some class after they grow up.

And, if Stoops needs the basketball crowd to help him with a recruit, he is in trouble.

Not necessarily. I did a fair amount of heckling in my day and Stevie would be prime for the picking.

I am a old guy - in my day is was the cap guns and Steve Stipanovich (who we usually called Steve Stipantywaist). I guess the cap guns are not politically correct any more though. :D

I scream what I want. you're not the boss of me!

I hope the students rip Stevie, Smart, Ford, and anything else to do with OSU. If little bro can't handle seeing big bro get some smack talked to him from OU students, then he probably isn't cut out to be an OU football player anyway.

You don't have to like her or them, but fact of the matter is, chanting rude stuff at Stevie Clark accomplishes nothing positive for the basketball team, and could hurt football recruiting. And who cares that you don't want them, the coaching staff wants Dre regardless of any hassle that may be involved. Clearly, they think he is worth "it", what ever "it" may be.

dude chill out.

OU football will be fine if the guys gets his panties in a wad over some good heckling. You are making Stevie out to be a victim when he isn't. Him getting heckled should be the least of his or any of his family's concerns

This kind of asinine post really pisses me off.

One, you're insinuating drug use to Deondre, when I haven't even heard rumors of it, let alone any confirmation. Should Deondre not be recruited because his brother messed up?

Two, when you insinuate his "shady" recruiting, you're implicating the OU coaching staff. Clearly they don't feel there is anything shady going on, or they wouldn't be involved and still recruiting.

Third, and most importantly, who gives a flying fart that YOU don't want him to come based on rumor and innuendo floating around about a 17 year old kid. The people whose opinions matter, the coaching staff, do want him to come, to the point that they are very aggressively recruiting him. So get over yourself, and let them do their jobs, rather than making declarations about the character of someone you've never met, and likely never will meet.

Really classy, bashing the mother of an OU recruit. You should be embarrassed, and you should delete your post rather than post it on a PUBLIC forum. If you won't do it, the mods should do it. Your personal attack wouldn't stand if against a poster on this forum, and it shouldn't for the mother of a recruit either.

I recommned you stop being such a ******

Best post in this thread and it's not even close. Both lines are very relevant.

:clap

I don't even know where to start with this:

1) The apple doesn't fall far from the tree in most cases.

2) Reading comprehension, if you kept up with Stevies recruiting you will see it was shady. Has nothing to do with OU football.

3) If he doesn't come because his brothered got heckled by a rival school, then piss on his pouty attitude. He can sit down in Baton Rouge and eat some gras (maybe smoke some) with the mad hatter.
