I received a link to a survey about updates to LNC and Memorial Stadium today. There are separate surveys for the stadium and LNC. At one point it asked for comments and I added this into their text box:

In no particular order:
1)Students should be seated along the sidelines, not at the end of the court.
2)Donors who only show up for KU and OSU games shouldn’t have courtside seats.
3)LNC needs to be reconfigured so that all seats are closer to the court. Lose the oval shape.
4)Let people move down to vacant lower level seats after the game begins and publicize it.
5)Lower level restrooms and concessions would be nice.
6)The graphics on the scoreboard have improved this year, but I still liked what I call the ‘Hustle Boards’ that Kelvin had installed.
7)Lose the twitter nonsense from the graphic boards in the corners.
8)Install a ribbon digital message board.
9)Give more scores of other games.
10)Cut the number of silly games played during timeouts in half and have the band play more. Let the people who sponsor the games sponsor the band instead.
11)DON’T TRY TO MAKE THE COLLEGE EXPERIENCE LIKE THE NBA EXPERIENCE.
12)Increase the size of the Sooner Vision board. The players should look bigger on the video than they do from where I sit.
13)Keep the player stats on the Sooner Vision all the time. Move the advertisements to the ribbon board I suggested.

Do people complain about moving down to lower seats? I've always thought to myself at the game that I should move down to some of the numerous empty seats after halftime, but never have tried it.

There have been times in the past when the folks in the yellow vests would only let people go down to the lower level if they had a ticket for that level. I don't think it's as bad as it used to be, but they don't publicize the fact that people can do that.

I believe they make an announcement now that oyu can move down

I just finished filling out that survey for LNC. I didn't have all the points you did, MSProudSooner, but I did focus on telling them not to try and recreate the NBA experience cause they can't. I was also troubled by their comments that seats between the baseline would be sold to corporations or the type of donors who don't show up (i.e. LE people). I sit between the baselines on the lower west side and have for 25 years. I fear I may lose them and I told them if that happened they would likely lose me too. I stressed they needed to bring back the little guy, not sell out to the corporations, unless they are happy with lots of empty seats. This needs to be done on donor money up front, not on getting it out of the ticket holder later. For what I pay for donor seats and season tickets for what, 17-18 games, I could go to a lot of Thunder games, and the Peake is closer to home.

Oh boy. I've got a million opinions and ideas. I just hope they can formulate a plan and get it done relatively quickly.

Very good post here, and I agree with them all. Mostly they need to quit catering to rich people or corporations who only come to the games when OSU and Texas or Kansas play. Give those folks some upper deck seats and let the folks buy the seats down low on the east side to people who have actually attended games in the past. It's easy, they have a record of every seat and if the ticket was scanned for every game for the last 5 or so years. If you have not attended at least 65% of he games, you should not be able to buy those good seats the next year.

The east side (or whichever side the camera shows on TV) should have all the folks that attend higher percentages of games. Perception is everything and when people flip on the TV and watch some of an OU game or the highlights. If it LOOKS decently full then that speaks better for the program.

Right now, the lower east side looks pathetic on TV.

They should start by fixing that problem...

how nice it must be to live in fantasy land ..

1000 a seat donation plus .. means a ton to the AD and is one of the reasons that we are a successful self funded AD

Twitter is a huge form of communication for those of us of the ages of 30 or younger. You're probably not going to get your wish there, MS. If you don't use twitter, or understand its purpose and significance with the players and people of our generation, I understand you not liking it.

I'm not completely against it. But, I would just like to see the 4 boards in the corners reserved for realtime stats about the game. If they installed a ribbon board, that might be a good place for the tweets.

The best way to get the donors away from courtside would be to install bleachers in the first 10 - 15 rows all the way around the court.

I sit on row 7 behind the bench. My dad has four tickets there. He and I try to make it to every game. But a lot of times, the other two tickets go unused because my mother has terrible knee trouble and can't make a lot of the games because of it. The other ticket goes unused also because right now it's hard to find anyone really willing to go becuase of how the team has been the last few years. I usually take my girlfriend but if she can't go then it usually goes unused. My dad has had tickets since he was in college in the 1970's. Some years we wouldn't make the quota of a certain percentage used even though he and I make it to almost every single one. Do you think we should be moved or give up our tickets?

It was a lot easier to fill our other two seats when the product was better on the floor. And they are getting better and in a few years I think it will fill back up, but right now I don't think it would be a good idea to put a certain percentage use on the seats.
