Taylor Roberts

We should stop recruiting her, that's horrible! :)

SoonerNorm,
I would love to know what schools are recruiting her? I wonder if OU is at the top of her? I wonder has Sherri even offered her? A lot of unknowns to us fans at OU:eddie187_jpg_xs:

The only thing I've read is, KSU, OU, and OSU are recruiting her. I'm sure other teams are as well but I don't know who they are. I hope Sherri has offered but I don't know one way or the other.

I would guess not because the Daily Oklahoman has not reported Taylor being offered a scholarship. I'm thinking the universities release that information to the press!. This part of sports is above my pay grade:facepalm:ez-laugh:

It is a violation of NCAA rules for universities to release any information about recruits to the press. That's why we never know. Usually, it is the athlete who opens up. Either the athlete or his/her circle of friends often reveals something.

Or her coach!

Someone on the college staff often releases that information to guys like James Hale.

Coaches talk to recruiting "insiders" like James Hale all the time. I personally have witnessed it.

It is still a violation. I anticipate that they may be able to confirm a name, but they are unable to make any comment. It would probably be easier to do in football recruiting since you can simply confirm what so many kids are already claiming. Women are a bit more silent as a rule.

Who are the recruiting insiders besides James? Outside of individuals on boards, James is the only local person I can remember providing any info on recruiting or visits by recruits. I'm also not sure what coaches MIGHT be telling so called recruiting insiders but it can't be much since time after time we get a commitment from someone that no one had ever mentioned on this board or any other OU boards. It hasn't been too long ago when many complained that no one ever received any recruiting info and that everyone should know about our recruits. I can't see any evidence that anything regarding recruiting by the coaching staff has changed other than the use of social media and they are raked over the Coales for that too.

Sybarite,
Thanks for the information! I guess she hasn't been offered because I seen anything on social media. I guess someone would've have said something by now. Good luck to her on the recruiting process.

I'm feel confident Taylor has received some offers. Now that football recruiting is over, maybe James will call a coach and find out who Sherri is recruiting.

Who is James Hale??? Not familiar with this scout.

I subscribe to that website. Hale does a good job on football, but he admits that he concentrates on football. That's where the money is. He rarely does any story on any sport other than football. In a year, I've seen maybe two or three stories about any women's potential recruit, usually after they have committed or signed. It's just not where he spends his time.

Thanks for information! It's seems we have to wait until someone post something on social media to know if a athlete has been recruited or offered a scholarship. Doesn't seem like a reliable system for accurate information .

In theory, nobody connected to the university can release information. Men are usually more likely to talk, the male ego being what it is. The football players that I have watched come through the local system brag about how many offers they have. The young women are much, much more silent. They seem to take it a bit more seriously. I've seen some get excited about the opportunity to get an education, whereas the guy just wants to have it be known that he has a scholarship. Generalization.

That's a true statement.

Taylor scored 38 points last night but I'm sure her minutes were limited because they beat Grant 71-29.

After checking, she played 28 minutes. Not sure why the coach played the girls as much as he did (most played 28-29 min) but, maybe he didn't have many players available...don't know.
