Taylor Roberts

After checking, she played 28 minutes. Not sure why the coach played the girls as much as he did (most played 28-29 min) but, maybe he didn't have many players available...don't know.

Heard he had only six players last night and three are hurt. That could play a major factor in the playoffs in couple of weeks on how far Classen will go!

Good info, thanks!

Soonernorm I'm going to ask you a dumb question. After looking at the OSSAA website Classen had ADM of 535.70 students in the school and they only have six varsity girls basketball players that are healthy and 3 players hurt No J.V. or Freshman team why is that do you think:confused::confused::confused:

I'm as puzzled as you are! If I have a chance to go to another game, I will hopefully remember to ask a Classen fan and I'll let you know whst I find out. That's very strange.

Tough way to build a program with hardly no kids. I see Classen plays Harding Prep tomorrow at Harding be interesting to see if the other players are healthy.

Classen School of Advanced Studies is a different high school, with two college preparatory plans, the world recognized International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and the nationally recognized Visual and Performing Arts Program. You must apply to this school and it's highly likely that most of the students enrolled here may not have athletics as an interest.

Tycat947,
Great point! I'm sure that's probably the case all books not enough athletes:facepalm

When I watched them warm up, I would have guessed they had 10 or so players suited up. It sounds like injuries may have limited the number of players who are available.

After just looking at max preps they have only 9 on the roster.

Soonernorm,
I believe I'm going to catch Classen tonight and watch Edmond Santa Fe play tomorrow night and watch Jonah play. Are you catching any games this week???

It doesn't look like I will be able to go this week. But, give us a report if you have time. Thanks!

I was at the game if you want to call it that! Classen won 76-33 Taylor had 35 points and 14 steals. I did see the University of Tulsa at the game I guess recruiting I would think.

Soonernorm,
Classen had only 6 players and the other 3 are hurt from what I could see from the stands. Taylor didn't shoot the 3 ball well but she was all over court stealing the ball which offset the poor shooting night. I believe she will be able to play in the Big 12 she has a D1 body already she must lift weights with her dad they both are good size people!!!

We know that Taylor doesn't have many off nights shooting 3s so I guess I can forgive this one night especially with 14 steals. :)

Great info, thanks!

SoonerNorm,
I have some great information on the recruiting of Taylor from what I heard she's not being recruited by OU! I was floored when I heard this! They said not a letter or a even phone call! I do not know how true this is but if it is that's disturbing and unfortunate! When I heard this it was hard for to even conceive that a player of this caliber isn't being recruited by OU!!! WOW WOW I pray someone from the SEC does not get her!!! :eddie187_jpg_xs::facepalm

I hope some other Big 12 team does not get her. We do not need to face her 2 or maybe 3 times yearly.

I'm as confused as you are! If Sherri believes she will sign another player who can shoot and score better than Taylor, I can't wait to see her!

This is one area in which I think it hurts not to have elite camps. If a coach has questions about a player's ball handling, defense, quickness, shooting, etc, they can bring that girl to camp and work her through some drills and perhaps let her go one on one with another player like Gioya to see how she performs. Not having that one on one time with a player forces a coach to make recruiting decisions without all of the knowledge of what that player can do. I would think that more information would be imperative when you are a coach making a decision that affects the team for the next few years.
