Torre Thompson leads the country in 3 point shooting percentage at 54.2%. She would most probably be starting in place of Derica if she was a Sooner. She would even be a weapon off the bench.

They never wanted her.Remeber Laneisha,Toree and Tammara Lee.All played on the same club team in OK.The team was good not great.

L. Williams and Edwards haven't set the world one fire. Alot of kids from Oklahoma don't really pan out... just look at Richa Jackson, might have been the highest rated player in state history, and her college career was so so.

Remind us about her, Mac.

Was she the MWC girl who played with KK? What happened to her?

I remember thinking Sherri only offered Kay Kay because she thought it would help her get Jackson, I now see Kay Kay is the better player...

Jacksons high school rankings were No. 12 (Blue Star Report), No. 6 (ASGR), No. 6 (ESPN HoopGurlz), No. 25 (Collegiate Girls Basketball Report).

was no better then a 9ppg scorer... I know people get hung up Sherri not going after the kids in Oklahoma, but who other then Courtney Walker Texas A&M has left the state and went on to be an All American or have major success? maybe Iciss Tillis but that was so long ago...

I've said before how Geno doesn't really look at kids in his backyard because they don't face the type of talent other kids have around the country. This is the main reason I'm not sure Wilson will be a star in college and why I could be getting myself over excited about what Dungee will bring to the team, I guess well find out soon...

I can name a few who would of helped us a bit other than Tillis.

Alyssa Brewer-Tennesse/UCLA(Even tho we beat them in 2nd round)
LaTia McGee-GeorgeTown (Had a great career)
Eurenesia Williams -Texas (Killed Us every time we played them)
Taleya Mayberry- Tulsa (Exceptional career, could of went just about anywhere)
Kevi Luper- ORU ( one of my all time Oklahoma great scorers)
Ashley Bruner -South Carolina ( Never understood why Sherri never offered, went on to play a key role in helping Dawn Staley Jump start South Carolina)

Of course Courtney Walker would of helped a ton.
Their was another player on Midwesti City team with KK and Richa who played in the big12 and started but cannot think of her name.

Richa Jackson was a very good player but had to much talent in front of her at Duke. Would of been all Big12 if stayed in state and went to OU or OSU or somewhere in the Big12.

I think Jessica Washington will have a very good career at Kansas next year as well.

Hate to hear stories like that. She was a very good scorer. Doing very well at TCU.

Sherri was excited about KK while she was still at MWC. KK may not have been used quite as effectively as she could have been in HS - although she was a star and highly recruited.

I think a lot of success after they get to college is dependent on the coach using them correctly - and being able to get them to play the right role on the team. Some kids are willing to do that - others are not. They are just not very teachable. Maybe that is what happened to Richa - although that is just speculation.

I think a lot of the evaluation Sherri does in recruiting is based on her expectations about that - and it is very, very hard to argue against her success. 3 Final Fours, getting into the tournament year after year after year, and now selection to the hall of fame.

I really hope she gets a National Championship before she finishes.
