Agree. If the fan said that, he should have season tickets revoked / be banned from the arena.

BUT

Marcus Smart should be held to the consequences for his action, which should be a suspension for the remainder of the year. You simply do not touch a fan. If the Big 12 doesn't come out strong enough against this, there's a chance the NCAA gives him an additional suspension.

I think smart should be gone regardless what the fan said. Don't think the fan should be ejected for calling smart ugly.

It makes no difference what the fan said. Smart went into the stands and assaulted someone sitting in the crowd. It has to be over for him. Done. Finished. Out of college basketball.

What destination, what road trip could they take him on the rest of the season? Opposing fans at any Big 12 school would haze him out of the gym after this.

Trying to read Smart's lips it looks like he said "you better not call me n***** again". Now there's still no excuse for what he did, but if they can prove the fan did say that then he should be banned from the arena for a while or permanently.

Totally agree! It is Tech afterall! They've never been known to have class either!

On a basketball note, I think this takes OSU out of the race for second place in Big XII. It's probably a 4 team race between OU, UT, ISU, and KSU. We get to play two of those teams at home which puts us in a pretty good position, I think.

If that's what the fan said, I agree with you. Tech is doing everyone associated with their school a disservice if they don't suspend that fan.

But there is no excuse for going into the stands and putting your hands on a fan like that. If the Big 12 doesn't come down hard on him, the conference will lose a big part of the credibility it has received this season. Even some of ESPN's commentators are calling for a long term suspension.

Another result of this game is that OSU and Texas Tech are now tied for 7th in the Big 12.

Smart is a proven idiot but if that is what the guy said to him, he'll get his....i do know that Tech has "n*****"'s on every team they field.

that is actually the one thing i will give Smart some lenience for....but there is nothing an old guy could say to me that would cause me to push him like that.

and i'm 44.

it's basketball, not the israeli tanks motoring across my family or something.
