Tennessee

Bunch of negative Nancy’s. Aggressive game by a high pressure defensive opponent. Young ladies played a great game.
I had only seen Tennessee play for a little over half of a game earlier in the season - against UConn. I didn't realize they had so much old school Texas A&M in their blood. If the refs had called every foul they could have called, they might still be playing.

Enjoyed the game. Thought the kids and coaches did a good job. What a game by beers.
Agree. Something else. Lofton’s whole family was there with her very young grandma who is terminally ill. Had a great talk with her aunt and she was just diagnosed around Thanksgiving. Really puts some perspective on harping on these young ladies.

We never know what these kids are dealing with in addition to their. sport and academics. We need to remember that before we critique their performances.

Very true. Not to mention, I couldn’t bring the ball up without a turnover by half court against these teams. 3 big wins in 8 days is nothing to complain about.

I probably shouldn't say this, but what the ****? Someone posted about the Negative Nancys on the board. Has anyone noticed the way soonerguy and Soonerinkc feed off each other with those Chicken Little "The World is Coming to an End" posts?

Sorry if I'm being overly critical. I'm believe you're both huge OU fans and good people.

A few thoughts:

What a difference a year has made with the mind set Beers plays with. She has really decided to play like she is the biggest and strongest girl on the court, and she usually is.

Constantly amazed at how talented our freshmen are. Homeruns with Loftin, Chavez and Stewart.

Kids like Peyton are exactly why I watch women's college basketball. Uber skilled, keen sense of anticipation (plays at least one step ahead of everyone else) and just immerses herself in the game. You know her mind is working, but it looks like she just sees it and feels it and doesn't have to figure out what to do before she does it. Looks so natural. So few boys look this way, it has gone the way of pure talent and size. Still a few. You know, kids that look like they were just born with a basketball in their hands.

And finally, presumably our in conference record has kept us ranked lower then our overall record would suggest it should be. Just looking at the big picture, it sure seems like we are substantially under ranked/seeded. But, what do I know.

I have been negative too, but I had to remind myself this conference is very tough. And also, these are young ladies that hate losing more than hate them losing. The type is offense is not going to change, so they’re going to throw turnovers other teams don’t. I got over that. One thing I notice is they always play with effort and you can’t teach that. We have a very good group and the younger ones are growing up quick. I only see upside from here. I just feel every single game there is ridiculous feedback. Even before the game has ended. Maybe expectations were set too high with this young of a team. We may be exceeding what we really should be doing right now. These teams are full of stars. Very happy what OUr ladies have done.

If you are surprised by the calling of phantom fouls you haven't watched much college ball, especially women's. Great games by especially Sahara and Aaliyah. How huge was our missed ft near the end and Sahara gets the offensive rebound??
Here's a weird ?,, when they stopped play and ended up calling flagrant against the Tenn player, which occurred before the made basket, why isn't the basket disallowed? And secondly why doesn't the player who was flagrantly fouled have to shoot the FT?

Exactly! The foul obviously happened before the made basket.

Question on the the foul whenever Reagan was it in the face and it was upgraded. I watched it back last night. The foul clearly happened before the shot that scored. Shouldn’t those two point have come off the board?
