Wish there were more game writeups like this one.

"When you're getting layups on the other end and you're beating the press, that press is only good if you're turning the ball over," Mulkey said. "I just thought for the second game of the year, to do what we did, and do it comfortably, maybe I just need to sit down and not get so stressed out."

That's just one of several interesting quotes from both Kim Mulkey and Matthew Mitchell. I felt that Baylor might have been the best women's team I'd ever seen last year. With the entire roster returning, nothing I've seen early would indicate any difference this year.

It looked to me like that Sims and Griner have improved due to experience and determination. Baylor had too many turnovers (22) but I guess you can live with that if you beat someone by 34 points. Team wise, Baylor played extremely well defensively as Kentucky only shot 27% from the field and 18% behind the arc. There is a long way to go but, right now, Baylor has to be the favorite to win it all again.

It was hard to imagine that Kentucky was actually ranked that high at #6. We played pretty bad with 2 BU players running into each other going after a rebound on more than one occasion. Mistakes that freshmen make not upperclassmen. Turnovers were high, but when every player on the team gets to play and subs finished the last 10 mins of the game while maintaining a 30+ lead against a top 10 team, that's impressive! This years team has more depth and when Prince is fully healed, watch out! We have size down low with the addition of K. Higgins and a pure 3pt. threat in Prince which is the piece we were missing last year. Gonna be a good year baring no injuries that seem to plague this team every year. On to the next one.....Stanford in Hawaii!!
