First, it reinforced my opinion that Baylor is the best team in the B 12. I think they are the league's best opportunity to win the NCAA this year. There can certainly be arguments for some other teams, but I think Baylor is the best team.

Second, good game by the team. I thought they played hard and with a lot of energy. Good to see they haven't mailed it in for the year.

Third and like most of you, I was really encouraged by the play of Oweh and J-Bam. I have been a big fan of Oweh for a while and having been promoting on here that he get more playing time. So, I was glad to see that. Didn't have any idea what we would get from J-Bam. He was terrific on both ends. Both Oweh and Bam made some mistakes, which I think is to be expected with there just now getting extended minutes. But, I thought they played really well. Hopefully they continue to play and hopefully they continue to play as well as they did last night.

I feel a lot better about the team after last night.

Hate to say it, but Texas is the best team in the league, IMO.

As for OU - the energy JoeBam and Oweh showed was great. Too many turnovers for sure. Uzan shot the three well too.

You just get absolutely nothing from JGroves - awful - and CJ can't shoot this year, so why not play JoeBam and Oweh.

I'd be in favor of trying to go small and play Hill at the 5 with GS, Uzan, Oweh and JoeBam. And, maybe, we could play a little zone defense too - just to change things up. We get killed on the boards already, so maybe being more athletic and changing defenses can force some more turnovers.

Hell, just spit-balling really - as the season is over IMO.

Watched Harmon play last night against OSU. He is exactly the type of player OU could use right now Why did he leave?

He's fine, but is shooting under 25% from three as a 6'2" guard. He wouldn't move the needle on this team IMHO.

As for last night, sure, it was better than the past two games, but that isn't saying much. Outside of Oweh and Bam being in the rotation now, I see no reason for real optimism. Heck, 8 days ago people were riding high heading into Bedlam based on what happened in the Bama game. If that game didn't spark us, I struggle to see how a 10-point loss will. Baylor is good, but I don't think I have heard a single analyst call them the best team in the league. I still will be surprised if we win more than 2 games the rest of the way. Two wins would mean 14-17 for the season, and 16 losses in our final 24 regular season games. Fun times.

Hes a head case likely bc he thinks hes still a 5 star nba player type when hes really just an above average college player IMO. Oh, and hes on his 3rd school..

Next 4 games could grind the remaining life out of the team... They offer a chance for upsets, but going KSU, KU, KSU, and Texas is the toughest 4 game stretch of the season.

He was paid to transfer to Oregon. He would been a welcome addition to last year and this year teams.

As far as the game goes, I admit that the play of Bam and Oweh made me as upset as I am excited by their potential. There is no world where j groves and Cortes should start/play over them.

I've gone back and forth on the best team in the conference. You can make an argument between Texas, TCU, and Baylor. TCU is the most athletic and most experienced. Baylor is a matchup nightmare for just about anyone....they have four guards who can not only shoot from 3, but can beat you off the dribble/create. Texas is sort of a mix between those two teams. This is the first time in a while that I can say KU is definitively NOT the best team in the conference, but they still have the best coach in the league.

As for the game, we played well and hung tough....which seems to be a good indicator that the team hasn't quit. And Baylor had to play well to beat us, which is a positive. But we've seen this countless times this season....the team plays really well against elite teams only to follow it up with a dud. We'll see what happens on Saturday.

I'll never write off KU. They lack depth and their best big isn't very big, and those are both real issues. But they have the conference POY, the best shooter in the conference, and the best coach. I think the home blowout to TCU is the one game that is sticking with a lot of people -- other than that, all their losses are easily understandable. It won't surprise me at all if they go on a run and at least tie for the league title.

Self made some great adjustments and ran Texas off the floor the other night so I'm right there with you.

Agree that your eyes tell you TCU might be the most talented team. I guess I just trust Baylor more due to previous history in the tournament and I believe Drew is a way better coach than Dixon. And also agree you just can't ever completely disregard a blue blood like kansas. Great coach and great perimeter game, so depending upon who they draw, you never know. The sleeper for me is OSU. I think for them, it will be all about how they shot the ball from the perimeter.

Case can be made for Texas, but without Beard, I'm just not buying them for some reason.

Agree and in today’s college sports world there is no reason to get excited about guys who start showing a spark or are finally given opportunity to provide a spark. They may not be here next year, may be allowed to continue to do what they shouldn’t be doing, and we don’t know who will be here at all on this team or coaching.

It is sad to me that we haven’t learned how to play in this conference. We made too many mistakes and missed too many FTs during the game but when it really counted after we took the lead we did what we do; we made those mistakes at an accelerated rate. I should make a list of what we shouldn’t ever do, Tanner never more than 3 (maybe 2) dribbles; hardly any guard should ever pivot off the dribble, stop trying to post Jacob, and several more. But we do those and continue to do many of them. I know we are not loaded with talent but how a coach can continue to watch what we all watch is beyond me.

And, yes, Baylor is good but is certainly not the best team. Their D is in the bottom half of the league IMO. They are certainly skilled but it is all 1-on-1 and we saw what happens when those wheels fall off at Marquette. We should have beaten them in Norman but we again did what we do.

I wouldn't say that I'm necessarily writing off KU either, but IMO, there are better teams than KU in the league this season....just based upon what I've seen thus far. And they still have road games at TCU, Texas, and OSU....and they have Baylor at home. I can't see them getting through that stretch without at least a couple of losses. Yet, it certainly wouldn't shock me if they made a run based upon Bill Self alone. But as you mentioned, the issues they have this year are real....and I think that is why they will come up short.

Crazy stats for the game…

OU - better FG % better 3pt % (only 1 less 3), more rebounds…
Ft’s killed us 4/10 at one point, TO’s 14-7

Bu - Ft 15/22? Close to that,half the TO’s

** these stats were with about 1 min or two left in game down 10

I was glad to see a game that close that neither team can scream the officials screwed them. Sure there was a few bad calls but I don't think the refs made OU shoot 50% from the line or commit 14 turnovers.

Played hard just don't have the pieces to win in a conference as stacked as this one.
