What scared me is that everyone has such strong opinions on who they want the coach to be that it seems to lead to a hatred of other coaches named. When a coach is eventually named most of this board will probably not agree with the choice. At the end of the day, however, we all have to support the new coach 100% or we will be right back in this situation in a few years. Fan support will fill the seats which will improve play and in theory will bring the program to a higher level than it currently sits. I guess I'm just hoping all of this talk of I don't want this guy or that can turn into support when a coach is finally picked... Boomer!

OU fans WON'T support the team if they lose, as evident by this past year, and the Blake years in football, so if the team will lose without support what are we to do?

He hasn't risen very far.
He talks about how he could recruit and that he's always been a winner. It's just talk. Why hasn't he tried to get a mid-major job and prove it?

NOT just talk. The record books don't lie. His record is pretty darned good at all of his previous stops. As to why he hasn't moved up? Who knows? Maybe he has enjoyed his tenure at UCO, maybe a lot of things.

All that I am saying is that, given our apparent choices for the head coaching job at OU, Evans is beginning to look better and better.

I'm sorry but I'll go with the guy's resume which has been proven over a 10 year period rather than some anonymous internet poster that swears he is a clueless idiot because he's "seen his skills in person on numerous occasions."

Though, as I have stated before in other threads, I live in Wichita and have been too many games, as well as have a close friend that was a GA under him. So don't go saying I am a clueless idiot.

I would say that makes me more qualified on the subject than you.

One thing is for sure. Even though I'm a Marshall fan, Evans would have definite "ins" with Athletes First and the rest of Oklahoma's premier AAU teams. Probably with Texas teams too.

what about the rose state head coach vs. gregg marshal?

I just think its funny we would even come close to hiring a DII coach with no DI experience unless that DII coach had won a few NC's and is competing for them year after year....

I view UCO as a step above SMU or something...I view it as ROSE State --> SMU --> UCO

so we are two steps away from hiring someone that coaches at hire state, haha...

Evans would not be "ins" with texas players....goodness, can you imagine the negative recruitment that would occur from EVERY coach in texas

Wow. I must reread it. My bad!! Sorry SeniorSooner!! But, although I didn't say he was a clueless idiot, but rather has limited coaching abilities.

Hopefully, this is all a moot point.

FYI. I am a WSU Alum and "booster." Though I am a lifelong OU fan! I donate money to both Universities.

With that, I am comfortable saying Marshall has no business being at OU. Bring on Lon!!!
