I don't know if Rodney Terry is a good basketball coach at this level. What I do know is that Texas fans/alums/boosters/cigars are pretty full of themselves right now after two College Football Playoff games and the usual "we're Texas" bs.

seems like a bad hiring cycle within college ranks but Royal Ivey seems possible to me.

Though, I am categorically against hiring former players and former assistants it almost never works. Get the best coach available.

Although we still barely see attendance for Women's basketball games and they are pretty good.

Better than pretty good. They tied for fourth in the SEC (they were seeded 5th on a tiebreaker) and spent nearly the entire season in the top 15. They won nine straight before falling to national top seed USC in the conference tourney and have a three seed in the national tourney, which has nine SEC teams in it. And they've been good every year since Coach Baranczyk took over, improving each season over the previous one.

When the men reach that level of success, we'll be beyond thrilled.

True, but the women aren't far behind. The Sooners spent time in the top 10 this season--they're currently 11th in the AP. And nine teams in the tourney is nothing to sneeze at.

On the men's side, there are two teams with a worse NET ranking than 66: LSU (89) and USC (87).

Yes and the sec women have been dominating for a while now. This is first season sec men’s have been the best (poor moser).
