Re: Mizzou to Final 4

Yet with all those great players his teams have consistently under-performed the last few years.

i'd argue that he's overperformed on the court, but he needs to reevaluate his recruiting strategy. of ut's 2008, 2009 and 2010 recruits (from rivals), the only one still on the team is j'covan brown. every other recruit left after their first or second season. it's almost amazing they've been as good as they have with that kind of attrition.

but he's got to find a way to recruit talented players that stay more than a year.

Re: Mizzou to Final 4

UT won the league in Barnes first year.

The only team I recognize as a conference champion is the one who cuts down the nets in KC.
We have a tournament specifically to crown a champion.
Barnes hasn't done it.

Fair enough, I'm more of a regular season guy.

I thought the reason that they have a tournament was to generate revenue by marketing a series of meaningless exibition games over the course of a long weekend.

Meaningless exhibition games that determine the league champion and the only guaranteed entrance into the NCAA tournament.
Yep. That.

OK, I'll edit my comment. The confernce tournament is held for the reason of generating revenue by marketing a series of games that are weighted no more heavily by the selecton commitee than regular season games and the outcome of these games sometimes results in an invitation being offered to a team less deserving than the regular season champ.

On paper Baylor should be really good, but Drew sucks a bag dix. Depending on how KU finishes out their class A&M and Kansas are my top 2. Mizzou also has a really good team on paper but Haith is underwhelming. OSU, meh. Nash could be dominant but likes to coast at times and wants to float around the perimeter. OSU does have some decent talent and an average coach so i say 5th for State.
