I don't know if Lon pulled him because he needed a break or because of the warning but when he went out we had a 5 point lead and before he could get back in we had 2 straight possessions without a shot and a 1 or 3 point deficit.

I love Lon but that was a bad move, looking back.

It turned when we couldn't hit the broad side of a barn in the first half and not having any inside game.

Not really because we came back in the 2nd half to take the lead so first half was non-factor though it didn't help.

I don't think it's why we lost the game but it was an important sequence. They had a 7-0 run in 56 seconds while cuz was out of the game

You are spot on! I was at the game and Cousins attacks Mason and scores and is getting fired up, which is what you want from your players! Then the refs separate them, Lon puts him on the bench for 4 minutes and we lose the lead. I was at the arena and our team with him on the bench had an immediately different feel. It reminded me a lot of the time that Lattin got in trouble for throwing the Horns down sign and we quenched his enthusiasm by benching him. This is the absolute wrong thing to do, period! You do not bench a guy that is fired up to play, maybe if he had made a dumb foul but that was not the case at all.:facepalm

lol, for being there, you sure have your facts mixed up.

Cousins played 37 minutes, and that wasn't the other breather he got. He went to the bench for ONE minute. That's how long it took for Woodard and James I think to cough it up twice, and for KU to rattle off 7 points. I don't think Cousins was on the bench but for about a minute.

Every player needs to sit a minute or two each half. Or they should. Otherwise they are coasting at times.

Okay, I just rewatched the game and it was from 8:39 to 7:03, either way he should have never sat down. Did Mason get sat after their exchange? No, point maid. If Cousins is not in foul trouble then we need him running the point down the stretch in big games. No LSU win at the end without Cousins.

We don't know if he was sat bc of the play with Mason. Most likely he was just getting a breather until the under 8 timeout.

When I saw the ref separate them, I thought Cousins did something bad....They showed a slow motion replay of it and Cousins never said a word..he shook his head yes.....Then he was pulled from the game...Of course OU coaches did not get to see the replay.....The KU player scores and turns to the crowd and tells them to ssshh.
The refs were very bad..but not in favor of KU or OU...just flat out bad.

I would say Cousins and Mason were talkin chit all game...Cousins talks a lot.

Not saying it was why he sat, but with his T at ksu..yes totally different situation..but OU could not afford that.

Cousins is a street baller...he talks chit. I've seen him on TV do it a lot..and that's just the few times they show him. Unfortunately it caught up with him, or Kruger for some reason...possibly.

IF we can't win a game with Cousins on the bench for a few minutes we won't go far during the ncaa..or it will be a struggle.
