The new guys

I didnt mean "timid" as bad. Just what you said, its culture shock, college adjustment, etc...

As expected, you are correct.

Not trying to be "correct." I just wanted to clarify what you meant by using the word timid to describe Freeman. He comes across as a confident young man to me in his interview and on the court. He also seems to be more mature than most kids his age.

I get what you are saying now. I'm not at all surprised to learn that he'll go through an adjustment period. That's one of the reasons why the next few months will be important to making sure he's ready to contribute at some level by the start of the fall season.

The other thing that helps these two is that even though its hard to simulate a game in practice, they wont face much tougher competition next year than they face everyday right now. They have to work on everything against the #1 team in the country right now, outside of Kansas we might not play anybody as good as we are right now next year,

Haven't been to practice, but based on playing time i would guess

Walker
Grandstaff
Either James or Freeman
Buford
Either Manyang or Freeman

Usually guys like Walker and Buford would not be part of the 2nd team because they are getting a lot of 1st team runs.

1st team- Buddy, Isiah, Wood, Spang, Lattin
2nd team- Walker, Dante, Odomes, James, AK
Scout team- Grandstaff, Freeman, Jamuni, mankin, harper

2nd team mixes in with 1st gus, Scout runs other teams stuff and such!

From the bench shots, Freeman is ~6'9" He is between Ryan and Jamuni
I hope that he and Grandstaff show steady improvement in their D. That is the obvious weakness for both.

Guys at practice, how is Rashard looking? You can tell he is down about not playing, but are you seeing any progression that he will get minutes next year. He definitely looks the part...

He's a freshman and that happens a lot with them. People had questions about Buddy and Isiah a lot when they were freshmen. That's not saying his career will look like their's but he's shown enough that IMO he will be an outstanding player in time. James and Buford are the same. The talent is there but will take playing time and practice to see these players at their best.

It's hard not to be excited about the young guys, and the guys coming in next year. I think Grandstaff will end up shooting lights-out in his OU career.

Just talked to a former student, he's RS at Coffeyville. Asked about Strong...

says he's scorer vs a true PG. Shoulder issues, why he missed some games..(that was a known).

In his opinion, he's a decent guard but not on the level of OU's.

It'll be interesting to see how LK works this...moving JW back to the PG or just bringing in this juco kid like Walker, for some back-up.

ou is not recruiting any other guards for this class

yup I know that...

I was just giving a teammate's thoughts of him

Grandstaff and Freeman are great additions to our program!

We haven't talked much about Grandstaff since he made the decision to transfer to OU. But in updating his profile on the Prospects Board, I learned pretty fast that he is an elite shooter from deep with range from beyond the NBA line. That's not all he can do, but knocking down long range shots and pull up jumpers is his speciallty.

Definitely needs to work on using his left hand.
