this is what happens when you can't keep your damn mouth shut.:facepalm

+100

Yep, cousins shooting off his mouth triggered this whole rally. Iowa State might've gone off anyway, but why kick start it???

Mark this one as a L

Cyclones were going to make a run....but Cousins' dumb play got them going.

Woke a sleeping dog...

guys to me Iowa State is the toughest place to play in the Big 12. The crowd was asleep and Cousin shoots off his mouth and they woke up and the team responded.

Sometimes I wonder about these kids!

I'm sitting here hoping we can come back but most of us new this would be a tough game on the road.

This one is on the guy in the suit.
Not the guy in the uniform who said something that gets said dozens of times on the court in every college basketball game.

If you want to scapegoat Cousins for the 2 points his T gave up, why not scapegoat Buddy for missing the layup to start the half, or Spangler for the layup he missed shortly after? Or a couple dunks that Thomas missed?

This is the kind of lesson I hoped we'd learn from that Texas game.

NO! WHat Cousins did was wake up a sleeping team and dead crowd. Everything changed aafter that.

Pathetic effort in 2nd half. Have so much riding on this game and piss it down their leg. #1 reason OU basketball fans are fickle fans. We blow our chances every time, every damn time! Always a game of what ifs with this program. You're welcome KU.

I don't know if you can put all this on Lon, he saw it coming called his time outs but the team didn't respond. You Never wake a sleeping giant!

Calling a TO is nice. But if you just call the TO and stand there and don't change anything, what's the point?

I kept thinking to myself that Cousins kept getting exploited on defense--seemed like every made basket from Niang came with Cousins guarding him. How was there not any adjustments made for that?

OU has no one that can guard Niang when he's isolated like ISU did. It's a bad match-up for OU.

When OU beat ISU in Norman, OU isolated our two bigs against their big (they just have one) and it was effective.

Hoiberg won the chess match...but the reality is this team lost its composure, nothing LK can do about it. They are all juniors and seniors, it shouldn't happen.

The lack of defensive adjustments reminded of the OU Baylor football game where we let them march down the field running 7 yard outs. Inexplicable that we did not make some kind of an adjustment.
