This is only my 93rd post in 6 years. I feel like I want to say how fun this season is going to be. Christian James is that guy that is going to step up. He is pulling a Cam Clark after 3 underwhelming years. Mcneace is so fun to watch on Both ends. I see hate for Odomes, and I do not get it. He is a good and high energy defender. He gets to the rim like nobody else. freeman has improved. The grad transfers are good positive influences. Manek wil turn his shot around, It will start falling. I like Kuath, and Doolittle will find his groove. Bienemy is going to be really, really good! I am excited for this season and into next year! We have a chance to make a run at the tournament, Which nobody was guessing. I had a feeling this team would be better than the experts thought. The future is BRIGHT!!!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I agree this team is fun to watch, and it is exceeding my expectations (so far).

I enjoy seeing players develop and improve during their careers at OU. Now that they are seniors, both Christian James and Jamuni McNeace are showing that they have come a long way in gaining maturity and improving their play. I hope they keep it up.

Over the course of a season, I enjoy seeing an OU basketball team come together, develop chemistry, and improve as a TEAM. As a former OU coach used to say, the season is a journey. I am hopeful that this team will show improvement during that journey, and be a better team in February than it is in December.

I enjoy an OU team that competes ... that battles and fights with discipline. So far, this team is an upgrade over the past two OU teams in this area. They work hard on DEFENSE and seem to take pride in getting stops.

I enjoy a team that has FUN playing this game. Winning always helps, but this team really seems to be having fun. (See locker room videos at OU site.)

The basketball season is always a bumpy ride. So far, so good.

Oh, I also admire guards that make free throws at crunch time. Thank you Christian James, Miles Reynolds and Aaron Calixte.

Don’t worry if you see what you think is hate. It is really just some unbridled emotion. One week a guy can’t play and the next week we need him on the floor at all times. What they are really saying underneath the emotion is that basketball is a game of matchups. This is especially true for teams like OU that rely on guys to create shots for themselves and for each other without much of a screen game.

What I like about our chances this year is that we have several guys who can create instead of just one and that includes the vastly-improved complete game of Christian James that you mentioned. Same on D which has been much better and coaches have obviously been focusing on it.

So far so good.

Wisconsin proves to be a solid team that will compete well in the Big 10. They played #4 even after falling behind early. Virginia did a much better job of covering the three point line than we did. Trice was a non-factor. But Happ did better against Virginia than us.

So far I like our defense but we have to improve in covering the 3 point line.

Our offense will be a key. Will we develop more than just James that provides a consistent offense. So far he is the only one we can count on. Muni and Manek have potential there, but Manek seems to be subject to Kryptonite away from Lloyd Noble.

Calixte is stable at point and Reynolds is the guy I want in the game when we are protecting a lead late.

Doolittle is another wild card. He is still forcing the game and seems out of the offensive flow a lot of the time. Should he let the game come to him more and let his talent work he could be a real plus. He also allows us to go small when we have to give Muni time off. The limited minutes for Kauth indicates that he has a way to go. Again his development could be huge.

I also like our depth. Freeman is improved though still one dimensional on offense and Odomes is solid off the bench and also one dimensional. Bieniemy is holding his own and his development is key. If he can become more an offensive threat it will be huge. After all I believe he was a shooting guard in high school. Like Manek he needs to develop confidence that he can score at this level.

The thing I like most about the depth is that there is not a noticable change when we go to the bench. The defense and offensive flow seems to stay solid. That will win us a few games.
