Tickets for the 2014 Big 12 Championship in KC

I've manage to arrange my work schedule so that I can be working in the KC area that week. I plan on buying tickets off the street to whichever sessions that OU would happen to play in. I haven't been to the Big 12 tournament in 7 or 8 years, so I'm looking forward to it.

Anyone know if the ticket office sells student tickets to the Big 12 tournament? I've always wanted to go, but two tickets at regular price might be a bit out of my price range.

I did the same thing last year. I was surprised at how hard it was to find a decently priced ticket, except the first two days.

Why the big 12 plays a basketball tournament in a state where there is no big 12 member is baffling

I was able to get two tickets in the upper corner for around $250 (all sessions) last year. Nosebleed but cheap for nine games. Prices you see now on stubhub will drop when they go on sale to the public.

I hope that we can avoid the side of the bracket that contains KU, KSU and ISU....cause I can see how it would become a difficult ticket. If KU wins the league, then we finish 2 or 3 and KSU and ISU are 4/5....that would be the ideal situation to help bring down the price.

Short walk to KS. Remains here in the KC area because you have so many KU and KSU fans here and they (IMO) support it better than TX and OK schools.

Ticket prices are almost solely tied to how KU fares - simple supply and demand. KSU supports pretty well but many more KU alumni in the city area.

You caught a tough year with KU and KSU both good and making it to the finals.

Since I work across the street from the Sprint Center I will wait until gameday and try to score some tickets for each session in which OU is playing. All I need is 1 and sometimes you can get 1 ticket for a decent price because somebody needs to move it.

Last year, I won 2 seats in the company suite for the session with OU/ISU and KU/Tech. I probably won't get that lucky this year.

They day Missouri left the Big XII everything in KC should have been moved. You don't give money to your competitors. Move it to the Kansas side of the border. Move it to OKC, Tulsa, Dallas, etc. Don't give those people in Missouri a single penny.

I just don't really see it as a competition. The goal should be a good atmosphere, good attendance, and an acceptable location. The Sprint Center is a much better venue and location than Kemper ever was.

I'd be fine with it moving to OKC on a scheduled basis but I just think it is better supported here in KC with very large KU, KSU, ISU support. OU and OSU have had good crowds up here as well. The old Big 8 still has much stronger ties when it comes to this tournament and it was at Kemper for a very long time.

No question KC does a great job, but it is less of a deal now without MU. It got lost in Dallas and the last time in OKC, OU and osu were bad and Thunder Fever had taken over. I just think it needs not to anchor in KC, try Tulsa in 2016.
