Tiny Gallon investigation

I heard Tiny has not signed his contract with the Bucks and might head to Europe for mo money.

At the rate the national cpommunists against athletes moves in their investigations and decisions, the season might be over before they do anything. It might be useful to decide when a decision would do the most harm (if unfavorable) to our program.

Everyday that goes by the more and more I believe Capel never should have even thought about recruiting Gallon or Mason Griffin. All they did was destroy any momentum we had with Blake Griffin and company. I'm convinced last years team is better just having those 2 players off the roster, even if we brought nobody else in their place.

How do you not recruit two mcdAAs that are interested in your program? Hindsight is 20/20.

Big difference b/t saying he never should have thought about recruiting and saying I bet he wishes he didn't.

The most either of those guys have been found guilty of is being immature. Coddled young athletes being immature...what a shock. Gallon wanted to come back, but couldn't becuase of the alleged NCAA violations lingering...IMHO, Capel would take Gallon on this team in a heartbeat.

A lot of players are immature. But few just give up like those 2 did. And they became more of a cancer for the program than being 2 immature. Just about every recruit we ever bring in is usually immature in one way or another they are mostly 17-19 year old kids. Some of the JUCOs are a little more mature but they are still about 19-21 years old.

This was far from being immature. I'm sure Cameron Clark and whoever else we bring in as freshmen will be immature. That's not what was the problem with Gallon and Mason Griffin. And to some extent Warren. They were already in the NBA as far as they were concerned and didn't want to learn to get better. Usually some of the immature players we get realize they need to get better. Warren had injury issues throughout the year but he was just worn out by last year also and left. Keith and Tommy never looked really interested in playing at the college level.

When in the year they were here did either one of those 2 really show that they were actually interested in OU? Just because they wore a uniform that said Oklahoma on it? They didn't really look that interested all year.

um they committed to us?

don't even try..Nick has an ax to grind when it comes to ww,tmg, and tiny.

last season was all their fault according to him. no blame goes to Coach or the other players, just those 3.

We would have won about 5 games last year without them

Thanks for hijacking the thread Nick

Ok back to the point..I guess that's a no on the investigation? I think I asked this same question about 6 weeks and none of the people on this board that would know answered. I think the silence says a lot

From what I've read and can tell right now there's nothing they can do to get any further in investigating since all parties aren't really participating. Hopefully something doesn't. And this isn't a huge enough amount of money to really go after like Reggie Bush situation was. There's less of a trail. And it's seems that Gallon paid the money back.

So in summary I doubt we ever get punished

What Nick said. Tiny, his mom, Coach O and the Financial Advisor aren't saying anymore than they already have. Since Tiny went pro, the NCAA has nothing to hold over his head. In addition, the NCAA has bigger fish to fry with agent problem that seems to be taking over the SEC/ACC.

This sounds very familiar...

With all-due respect Nick, OU with Tiny Gallon and TMG back would be favored to win the conferece. Not that it matters becuase they are gone, but dial down the frustration a little. FWIW, I might not have agreed with what he "wanted" to do on the court, but Tiny was a very talented player, so was TMG..at times that guy was unguardable.

I don't think talent was a problem for either. Based on talent we weren't a 13-18 team last year. But that was not their problem it was attitude and wanting to be here. Bring them back to OU and WW for that matter and we have the same flaws we had the last year. A team that doesn't like being there. You could tell in the body language of the players all year that they didn't want to be there outside of very few players. Cade and Fitz being 2. I'm not sure about Pledge but he didn't play as much.

In retrospect I can say that we never should have recruited Rhett Bomar. Stoops should have known better.
