I hope I'm wrong, but I could see Baylor slipping up tonight (not that I like Baylor, but I want KU to stay a game behind in the loss column). Anyone else have that feeling?

3 of their last 4 conference games were fairly close, so tonight's game, if it holds to form, will also be close.

I'm hoping both road teams win tonight (though I wouldn't bet on TCU to come through).

This is getting to the point where this may be both Texas and TCU's last stand....at least when it comes to getting back into the NCAA tournament conversation. Although Texas' schedule is a little more manageable down the stretch when compared to TCU. Both teams are 4-6 and it looks like either one would need to get to 9 conference wins to feel good about their NCAA chances. But I just don't see it happening in either case.

I don’t see Texas beating Baylor and I hope they don’t. Hoping Baylor’s first conference loss happens next week in Norman.

Texas playing hard.....TCU, well.....not so much.

I get that TCU is getting beat by a lot more than Texas at this point but could you imagine this board if OU had 29 pts with 7:28 to go IN THE GAME like Texas does against Baylor playing hard or not?????

Just as I typed that above, Texas was down 2. Then Baylor proceeded to go on a 16-2 run.....oh well. And yes, this board would be in flames if we were sitting at 42 points at home with just over a minute to go.

As a side note....why do people think that Jamie Dixon is a good coach? They only lost by 46 tonight....for their 6th straight loss.

He did a great job at Pitt who’s been terrible since he left. He has made TCU better than they were before he arrived but they’re still towards the bottom of the league every year. They used to be an automatic win for everyone. Now, they’re just a probable win for most.

Well he has been to the post season every year he was a head coach, 13 of the 17 are too the NCAA tournament. TCU was a bigger dumpster fire than capel left OU. They had been to any postseason twice in the 2000’s, 1 NIT in 2005, 1 CBI in 2012. He has had tcu in 2 nit’s, one championship and 1 NCAA tournament in his 3 years in Fort Worth.

He did have initial success with another coach's players....which I will give him credit for. Made the NIT the first year. They made the NCAA tournament in '18, had a run in the NIT last year, but yet they seem destined for the NIT again this year (at best). I guess I expected more since he had some success at Pitt. And remember, he did take a over a very solid program at Pitt after Howland left. Not saying he's a bad coach at all, I just haven't seen the progression....rather more of a plateau over the last two years.

He’s not a great coach, but he is a good coach. At TCU that’s about the best you can hope for. They have 1 elite 8 ever, and that was in 1968. Their last tournament win was in 1987. Now don’t get me wrong, I DO NOT want him at OU.

Fair enough....maybe I jumped the gun a bit on his accomplishments at TCU. But living in DFW, there was some hoopla regarding his hiring a few years back. I guess I just expected more progression, but it hasn't really worked out that way.

I thought TCU would be better... mainly because they had an All big 12 guy, a legit center, and highly rated shooting guards... But the problem is they have absolutely no point guard, and no power forward. They get zero production from two positions on the floor. If they don't hit a bunch of 3's, they are awful.

Check out the roster:

Mickey Pearson - Freshman (redshirting)
Francisco Farabello - Freshman
PJ Fuller - Freshman
Diante Smith - Freshman
Taryn Todd - Freshman (redshirting)
Kevin Easley - Sophomore (Redshirting)
Jaedon Ledee - Sophomore
RJ Nembhard - Sophomore
Kevin Samuel - Sophomore
Charles O'Bannon - Sophomore (redshirting)

10 scholarship players are freshman or sophomores.. They have 4 players redshirting... 2 that are true freshman and 2 that are sitting out because of transfer.

They return Nembhard and Samuel as solid starters for next year.. but will be working in a bunch of transfers and redshirts for the rest of the positions.

Yep, losing Bane will hurt. Also, Dennis and Grayer are gone.....but likely replaceable. Having said that, I'm not sure they are any better next year. I don't know enough about their young guys as to whether they can step in and make a difference.

Question is... Would Beard leave Tech for Texas?
