Anybody going to tonight's Faith 7 game? Two OU signees, Jelon Horbeak and C. J. Cole will be competing aginst each other in the annual Oklahoma-Texas all-star game that tips off with a dunk contest at 7:00 p.m. tonight at OBU in Shawnee. OSU signee, Phil Forte, is also on the Texas team.

If any of you guys go to the game, we would appreciate a recap, with special emphasis on Hornbeak and Cole.

Sperry forward C.J. Cole will go against his future OU teammate Je’Lon Hornbeak of Grace Prep in Arlington, Texas. Oklahoma State signee Phillip Forte of Flower Mound Marcus will be suited up for the Texas team as well.

In addition, Tulsa signees James Woodard of Edmond Memorial and D’Andre Wright of Lawton Eisenhower will be playing for the Oklahoma squad. And Oral Roberts signees Corbin Byford of Velma-Alma and Brandon Conley of Fossil Ridge, Texas, will go head-to-head.

The event begins with a slam dunk contest at 7 p.m., with the game to tip off at 7:35.

...will have a seriously hard time drumming up onlookers thx to game 7.

Jelon Hornbeak was named MVP in a blow out win by Texas, look for interviews of Cole and Hornbeak tomorrow.

I just about posted that based on the rosters, Texas should win that one pretty easily.

Although Hornbeak was solid at the point, I thought Bail or OFoegbu should have won the MVP on performance in the game.

Thanks for the tidbit, Sam! We'll look forward to the interviews.

I haven't been able to go since 1992, when Ryan Minor played. But I had some great times at the game in the 70's and 80's also. It used to be played in a small mid-school gym in downtown Shawnee in the 70's. Some smart person got it moved to OBU's arena in the 80's.

The '77 game featured two OU-bound players, football player Frank Moore out of Millwood and smooth guard Snake Gresham of Star-Spencer. They were supposed to get killed by the Texans but dominated them. I also remember a great showing by Stacey King in '85 - when he had a tall Afro, and a similar good showing by Kermit Holmes two years later.
