Top 15

Indiana at 9 is a laugher. Their defense was ranked 215 last year. Good offense team, but terrible on defense.

Michigan state lost swanigan...

They are SERIOUSLY overrating KU and ISU, and while I don't have a problem with where they ranked OU, their little blurb on us is complete crap. Depth might be our second biggest asset next season. Second only to our experience.

They need to redo this. MSU lost Swanigan. Maryland added Sulaimon. Wichita State just added the transfer Grady.

I dont understand why you think KU and ISU is overrated. They both have better teams than last year. Plus, KU is better when they have solid post players and they added 2 really good ones and return everyone except Oubre and Alexander who they didn't really have last year. And also, they were the big 12 champs and the big 12 tourney champs.

OU depth is nothing more than wishful thinking on OU fans part. Not saying we don't have depth but we have no evidence of a good bench. We have 2 redshirt post players, a juco player that didn't play all of last year in juco college, and 2 incoming guards that are not top 100 players. The only guys we have coming back on the bench is Cole and Walker. To say we have depth means everyone who has at least a 12 man roster has depth.

I also think UCONN is being overlooked.

Could be, we do have a lot of inexperienced backups. But we will have more bodies playing than last year.

Kansas still has Bill Self. Which is all they really need. I'm not sure if they are really as experienced and talented as OU and ISU but they will still be contenders.

AK ended up playing some last year...played well too.

If you are going to have inexperience, the bench is the best place to have it.

We're going to have 4 starters that have started together for what will be their third season. That is huge.

And while I understand the bench isn't proven, these are all guys that LK wanted, and he hasn't struck out very often. At the very least, they should be solid/decent bench options. Buford was a top 50ish type kid, no? Manyang is a true 7 footer. Lattin should be better with an increased roll, and another year of practice/coaching.

And I don't worry about the guards. Between James, Odomes, and Buford (at the 3), along with what I expect to be an improved Walker, I think we'll be fine. The two guard might not be top 100 guys, but they remind me a lot on paper of Buddy/Cousins/Hornbeak type guys. And all of those guys would have been helpful to next year's team as freshmen.

KU's guards aren't good enough to be the 2nd best team in the country. Period. I don't even see how that is debatable.

When KU has had the really good teams, they've had great guard play. I don't see that as a possibility with the guards they currently have coming back next year.

And what in the world makes anybody think ISU will be the fourth best team? To me, ISU just doesn't play a style of ball that will allow them, with that roster, to be a top 5 team. Not enough defense. Not enough toughness.

Of course both KU and ISU will be good teams next year. But they have them both in the top 4. I don't see it.

I disagree with your assessment of KU guards. Mason, Greene, Selden, Graham, and Mykhailuk. If you don't like those guards, then we have no busines being top 15. They have been young and they still have won 2 big 12 championships with their 3 guards that will be starting next year. Add the fact that they have 3 seniors and 4 juniors on that team...thats experience and talent.

ISU was picked by a lot of experts to make it to the final 4 this year. They return almost everyone and have solid transfers coming in and they won the big 12 championship. They will be solid all year long next year.

Whose in your top 4?

I think Greene is gone.

Indiana is up there b/c they have Ferrell coming back. And when you have one of the top 5 pg's in the country returning for their senior season, sports guys will give you some love. Especially when PGs win championships.

This is just silly. Basketball is a team game ... And their team was nowhere near the top 15 last year.

Indiana has a team; they return almost everyone. They were 20-14. When you return your entire starting 5, perhaps the best pg in the nation, 3 solid players off the bench and bring in 2 top 100 recruits...You have a legit shot at being top 10 and winning it all.

When your team does not rank in the top 50 in any ranking, plays defense worse than 213 teams, loses 10 of its last 15 games, and has a coach that has only finished above .500 in conference twice in the last 7 years, I don't think they deserve the benefit of the doubt as a preseason top 10 team.

They were a #1 seed 2 years ago. Creen can coach. Not to mention they lost 4 out of the 5 starters and then Vonleh didn't stay pass his freshman year. Sometimes it just takes a little bit of time to recoup when you lose everyone. Not everyone reloads like Duke and Kentucky.

And also, Big ten has been probably the best league the last couple of years. They prove it by getting 2 big 10 teams into the final 4 this year. So going 9-9 in the big 10 isn't really that bad.

We will be better off the bench this year. It doesn't have any experience but last year it was Lattin and Booker. Lattin is likely to still be the sixth man. The freshman will be better than Frank. You then add Jumani and Dante to the mix and we are better off the bench.

Mason and Seldon are both big time guards. Mason was really good at the end of the year. He and Morris from ISU are clearly the top 2 point guards in the conference.
