Sherri's teams have been similar in many respects, but not with regard to their toughness.

She has had some teams shrink when opponents get physical, and she has had some go "toe to toe". I'd bet sherri coaches the same way and the reason for this is just the player makeup of her teams. They are all different.

This team is tough and tough minded. I couldn't really tell earlier, but last night plainly showed the mind set of this team. Little Rock really took it to the kids last night and were really physical. Instead of whining and being intimidated, the kids came out in the second half and really mixed it up. We matched, if not exceeded, their physical play, in the second half.

Tough kids don't panic and stay with the plan even when it doesn't look like it is working. Trusting in the coaches has a lot to do with that. After the first game, I posted I thought we would be OK. I thought that because the girls stayed the course even though nothing was going right. So even though we lost, I liked the trust in Sherri and game plan. In my experience, tough kids usually win more than they lose, almost but not completely, without regard to talent. And, we have some talent. Perhaps more or less than other elite teams, but we have some talent. At least in my mind.

I think this team may exceed expectations this year.

I believe toughness does come down to individual players. When you look at Caton, Leah, Courtney, DRob, etc they defined toughness. When I saw Kaylon in high school, I looked at her as a finesse player but she has changed my thinking 180 degrees. She is playing very well.

Caton and Leah to me defined toughness and Chelsi I never saw intimidated.
