I know, I know, stats don't matter. He still should have had another double-double. Christian James hit a three with 2:04 left off a pass from Young (Youtube clip), but the play-by-play does not credit an assist.

It should be his 9th double-double of the season. Give the man his due!

If I remember right in the game with Northwestern St. when Trae tied the NCAA assist record, the announcers said something about having Trae with one more assist or the coaches thought he had one more assist not recorded ... if so, Trae got robbed of the record as well.

There should’ve been triple double game (1 reb shy) can’t remeb which one.

He shot the ball it was blocked, then he grabbed it (reb) and then the guy fouled him and he made free throws and was taken out with 1:?? Change to go

they really need to get the ou sid for basketball to review both games

I remember that as well. James kind of double clutched and hit the 3. Maybe he really only had 8 assists at that point though.

No assist because James didn’t shoot it right away, correct?

That's the way it was when I played (long time ago) but the assist rule is more liberal today. I am not sure what it is, but believe it is subjective

well, if Lattin and made the point blank lay-up! lol...the announcers even said BEFORE he missed..."there's Young's 10th assist"...oops...:facepalm

With CJ, I didn't think they'd give it to TY because #1 he moved his non-pivot foot forward..then back like he thought about driving...with no one on him...and as others said he kind of pump faked..hesitated then pulled up for the 3.

I always thought it had to come with the flow...no hesitation...but again..things change.

As far as a rebound, I don't think recovering a blocked shot is a rebound...just me though.

CJ hit two shots just like that one against Northwestern - in fact, I believe he had to avoid a defender on both plays. Both were credited as assists. Maybe a different statistician was working that day?

BINGO...there definitely is some subjectivity to it.

I mean he didn't dribble or anything...just thought about it for an extra second. Ball was delivered and he scored without making any moves.. Should be a 100pct assist.

I thought on TV they did credit it. Was surprised when it was otherwise. The Lattin miss was so ugly.

There was also a pass to lattin where lattin hesitated for a second but never dribbled and they didnt give trea the assit

There were several guys that missed class se ****s where Trae would have had an assist. Several people ther times OU went to the left e because of a foul. If you think about a guy who or get an assist when he makes a great pass that puts someone on the line. If they make the free throws it is better than a made basket.

I’ve never understood why it’s not an assist if your pass gets your teammate to the line and he makes a FT
