This is such a garbage take. In a vacuum, yes, it's a small amount of his yearly salary. But do you have an idea if he tithes to a church? Do you have any idea how much he donates of his salary that is not in the news? No you don't. Nor do I.

So maybe we should just acknowledge the good deed without subverting it -- whether you intentionally did or not.

The biggest positive of this is that it raises awareness to the ridiculousness of health care costs in the US and that paying down debt like this is an option for charitable contributions
