Transfer Portal 2025

I think this could be one of those seasons that a lot of people are really looking forward to being the most successful season in a couple of decades end up being a catastrophe because the limited roster we do have experiences some adversity, whether it be injuries or something else, and the personnel we have are just are not enough to overcome it. It'll be a very tough lesson to learn for the staff. And it could be one day easily could have avoided if they had even attempted to bring in anyone. I hope I'm wrong but it where I'm sitting now it seems like JB is honestly unconcerned about bringing anyone else and is willing to roll the dice with 9 freakin' players. Let's just hope keziah lofton is 100% healthy and able to play immediately and it's not actually 8 players smh

All it takes is a couple of injuries and OU would be in the basement of the SEC and with no tournament to go to. You have scholarship limits at 15 and OU is 40% short. If OU tests this theory by only having 9, fate will burn the Sooners badly. How many teams make it through a season without just a couple of injuries?

I predict a disaster if they don't get to at least 12 players!!!!

yeah. we're just not able to entice ANYONE it seems. this is a complete failure in the portal, when we've really needed quality bodies. pretty much anyone that could contribute is taken already now.
I think the fallacy here is the assumption we need quality bodies. We don’t. We need backup and practice players. The nine we have are going to be the first nine on the court. These transfers know that. Even the post-transfer polls have us in the top 10. We will have what we need by the end of the summer.

I think what grinds on the fans the most is that no one on the staff has come forward to discuss this issue. Maybe they don't think the
fan base is entitled to know what is going on with the program on this roster situation. Think they are dead wrong and if the season would be
to tank because of a short roster who is going to be held accountable? Really hope that scenario doesn.t come to fruition.

I think the fallacy here is the assumption that we don’t need quality bodies. We do. We need experienced and rotation players. The nine we have, barring any sort of injury, are being tasked with going the distance in a rough & tough conference, counting on that is not logical or the best decision.

I understand the notion of feeling like 9 players is enough, but in reality it’s going to be tough no matter who we have. If we were still in the Big 12 that could be a little more realistic but not the SEC, the SEC is another level.

South Carolina added the nations top scorer in Latson and 6’6” Center Okot and will welcome back their dynamic post in Watkins; Watkins/Kitts/Okot/Dauda is an absurd post rotation to contend against with only Beers/Culliton and I guess Stewart, we NEED depth

LSU is bringing in a top recruiting class and a 6’5” transfer post from Notre Dame along with Faujae they’ll be a lot better

Tennessee has the #1 overall recruiting class coming in and has added some quality depth through the portal which will fit their hockey style system which will be better

Texas retooled through the portal and will be right back in conversations and Ole Miss too

It will be TOUGH with only 9, really 8 players, Keziah is still coming back from a major injury & shouldn’t be rushed in her healing.

But hey I do still believe that Chavez/Verhulst/Williams/Beers/& whomever will give us a chance but we have very little to no room for error this season and it’s soo important to add 2/3 more players at least even if it’s not quality, depth is just as if not more important to support our stars.

I’m confident they’ll add and in our coaches but it is frustrating losing out on everyone we know about and struggling to find info about our team. We will see what happens

Exactly. OU was like, 6th or so in the SEC last year, and added 1 player who will truly contribute next season. OU didn't get as much better as other schools did, who used both the Portal and HS recruiting.
