Transfer Portal 2025

I'm curious that we haven't heard much on Rylan Griffen. We were leading on him out of high school until LK retired and he ended up at Bama. Very good shooter and long wing. Went to KU and didn't play this year, but that feels like it might've tanked his value a bit and we could get him relatively cheap. That's a guy I'd love to see end up at OU. Fascinating that nothing has seemingly happened with him from what I've gathered
Also were trying to get him in for a visit last transfer portal cycle, and probably would have if Kansas didn't shut him down.

He’s not a center. Much more of a Jalen Moore type player who I think was underutilized by Iowa.
I'm just not seeing what you're seeing on video or in the stats. Looks to be a moderate bench forward. Solid defender, not great at anything, and relatively inefficient for a frontcourt player.

Imo, we need to be a bit more realistic about the kind of player we can get from the portal.

We probably aren’t getting any of the big names or even the ones just below that first tier. Last year’s haul was headlined by Duke Miles, Kobe Elvis and Jadon Jones.

So I would prefer to take players that have some skills who could develop, rather than chasing our tail for big names.

We can all disagree about which players are the best fit, like you and I are here. I don’t think Traore is a star at all, but with continued improvement he can be a double figure scorer and he already has Power 4 experience.

Most importantly, he probably won’t cost a lot. I think there’s real wisdom in paying to get one big name scorer and being economical with the rest.

yeah i'm not getting my hopes up.
if we don't have the cash to get the top tier proven players...i'm all for taking chances on a couple of underclassmen who have the skills/athleticism/potential to break out given the opportunity.
you kind of know what your getting with a senior/one year guy on a budget.
