Transfer Portal 2027

Wondering how we would play these guys?

if you get these guys, you have an incredible set of players who can get in the lane and score — but only Brown and Reid can shoot from outside.

Have to spend the rest of the cash on shooters

I know this goes against the "commit eyes"

Desean Goode is being seeing, by most on the KU board, as a backup behind Stokes.
Louisville has also moved on from Goode.

May be that since we have Rooths, Goode is out as they are similar positionally.

Centers in the portal?

TE - can you help me understand your s1 and s2 numbers? Minho, for instance, is very comparable to Tae, and has double the defensive rating (it’s clear what Porter’s trying to do here) but there’s a significant difference in the s2 number.

Maybe the mystery center is Oswin. Would be big if true.

From Gemini:

Top Center Targets & Prospects
  • Oswin Erhunmwunse (Providence): A 6'10" center who spent the last two seasons at Providence. The Sooners originally recruited him out of high school (where he was a top-50 player), and he is considered a top priority in the current portal cycle.
  • Ethan Taylor (Link Academy): A 7'1" massive center prospect from the 2026 class. He took an official visit to Norman in late 2025 and is ranked as one of the top five centers in his class.
  • Kyle Evans (UC Irvine): A 6'10" defensive specialist who led college basketball in blocks (3.3 per game) last season. Experts at Stormin' in Norman have identified him as a dream "true 5" target for Moser's system.
  • Drew Fielder (Boise State): A 6'11" center who averaged nearly 15 points per game last year. He is being heavily pursued by several Power 4 programs, with Oklahoma identified as a potential landing spot due to his offensive upside.

Current Frontcourt Outlook (2026-27)
Player Status Height Role
Khani Rooths Committed 6'10" Likely starting PF/C
Kai Rogers Returning 6'10" Rising sophomore center
Derrion Reid Returning 6'7" Foundation forward
Gage Mayfield Signed 6'7" 2026 4-star signee

I honestly think Oswin is a downgrade or an equal move from last year's Wague IMO.

Interesting. Have you thought about using A/TO rating instead of raw assists? Also wondering if win shares is the big difference in S1 and S2. Is defense not included in s2?
I don't use defensive rating for mind, was hard to find a reliable one that I liked. There are a ton out there, so just rely on offensive output and PER.

Definitely something I should consider. Or at least, TO factoring in somewhere perhaps. W/S can add a few points, but is not and end all be all. I just preferred players who are efficient and assets within their skills.

On the app, you can set your own S1 scores by adjusting the weighted sliders for columns you prefer.
