Transfer Portal 2027

we get outbid quite often for football players.
Quite often? No, Not really for the guys we want. Sure it happens sometimes, but it happens less often on lower priority targets and it happens to everyone now.

The FB program retention is actually better than anyone else. The guys we lose now are not must haves and are usually depth pieces.

The guys we don't chase are the HS kids that want a big bag before they step on campus.

OU pays to retain and pays to get proven production from the Portal.

For the most part, they don't want to pay big dollars for MOST HS kids. QB's and maybe DT's being the exception.

Yes, they act prudently instead of throwing money around to everyone, as they should. That’s called being smart.

Lusk has it, between Oklahoma, Baylor and Illinois for kayden.. Illinois is trying to get both brothers but lusk also mentioned Dylan will be redshirting wherever he goes due to injury??

That’s interesting. Well, Moser loves bringing in freshmen who don’t play, so maybe that works to our advantage lol.

Kelvin don't lie.

Send some extra texts? Sure.

But lie? Never known him to.
I'm mostly just ruffling feathers, but here are a few other schools that don't have a GM that are killing it in the Portal.

Louisville (normally does, but operating without one currently)
Tennessee
Iowa State
Creighton

Already mentioned Houston.

Why are you expecting anything different than what we got all season? We got mediocre for 5 years now, so you trying to hold them to a higher standard than they hold themselves isn't going to work.

I guess I don’t understand why you’re focusing on the GM. Then you point to really good programs that have been very successful. Does having a GM solve all problems? No. Does aligning the basketball program for success and hiring a GM help us achieve our goals? I think yes it does. Hiring good people to help us be successful is a great idea. Is a GM a substitute for better NIL? No.

We are finally showing signs of committing to the program yet you think that’s a bad idea. Strange.
