Transfer Portal 2027

Chronic knee injuries that have ended three seasons prematurely AND such bad hands that his teammates stopped feeding him the ball. SIGN ME UP!

Kepnang - for me I don't mind. Give the guy 15-20 min, will defend at least and dunk everything. Let Rogers start or play most of the mins at the Center spot.

Hoping for better news though or a better player than this.

He would have to be the backup for ou to have any meaningful shot at upgrading the position. I seriously doubt he will come to ou to be backup.

It’s hard not to be a bedwetter right now. This program as we know it is toast without salary cap regulation.

The article I posted yesterday suggested $10-15M is what it takes for a quality roster in a conference like the SEC. The word that our new AD put out in his attempt to justify keeping Porter Loser was that our NIL funds would be at that level. I'm not saying our NIL is at the top of the market, but unless Denny was flat lying in saying they were going to give Loser the resources he needs, I doubt the awful start to the portal for us is because of lack of funds.

Dude, there are 100s of quality guards in the portal right now.

I liked Pack, but he was a midget with a really good jump shot, let’s not overstate what we’re replacing.
You think there are 100's of guards in the Portal that can be the 16th ranked player in the SEC (not guard, player), per Evan Miya's rankings?

That is absurdly crazy.

I really can’t imagine any big money donor wanting to support the program right now.

I can get behind this

I would sure as hell hope Denny had things lined up BEFORE he made that public statement. That would be a major screwup on his part to say something like that without making sure he had the funds to back it up.

We don't necessarily need a single player to be the 16th ranked player in the SEC if we can boost the other positions. Maybe PM is out recruiting himself. Maybe he does need a bunch of mid major dudes, all bought in, all fundamentally sound, not superstars. Maybe that's just who he is. 🤷‍♂️

Not saying I want a bunch of mid major dudes, just to be clear.

The issue is he’s done just about every roster combo realistic at OU. He’s done the mid major thing. He’s had decent retention throughout his tenure, so he’s had buy in from older players. He’s tried the athletic roster. He’s even gambled with a superstar freshman. And it’s resulted in one tournament in five years. It just doesn’t matter who get gets. History shows his ceiling with OU is a 9 seed.
