Transfer Portal 2027

Wild to see Mo at the top of the heap here.
I think the main driving statistic that TEvans4Three uses is PER, which I do as well in my own calculations. However, I'm not sure which source he uses for it. He's showing 23.7 for Wague and Basketball-Reference shows it as 21.0, which is a significant difference. Also, PER can tend to be artificially inflated for lower minutes played per game. So for my calculation I reduce the PER when MP is less than 27 by taking MP/27 * PER. I imagine if you did that with his ratings here, that would put Wague between Brown and Reid, which seems more logical to me.

edit: no disrespect intended to @TEvans4Three. His calculation could very well be spot on.

Sounds like OU has a zoom with Desean Goode this weekend. He’d be a quality addition, but we’re up against stiff competition. His role would likely be bigger here than at Kentucky, Louisville, etc. Might be one we’d have to “overpay” if we really want him.

According to Lusk the Zoom already happened and they’re visiting him in person this weekend.

Lusk just dropped some notes this morning:

Guards:

Terrence Hill Jr. - OU working to get him on campus for a visit, but slot at number 3 right now behind Kansas and Tennessee

T.O. Barrett - working to set up a visit

Kayden Mingo - Still in the zoom phase, but OU is very high on him

DJ Wagner - heavily in the mix, already zoomed. Villanova other main team pursuing. Will not take many visits, if any at all. Very familiar with Scott/Brown.

Markus Burton - Wild Card, a target if he makes it through the weekend uncommitted with his visits to Houston and Indiana

Wings:

Devin Royal - Zoomed Thursday night, believe to be in a pretty good spot, even as Villanova is the team to beat. Viewed as a three, will look to get him on campus

Khani Rooths - viewed as a four, 6-10, upside swing, Michigan is also involved, but they likely can't offer as big of a role as Oklahoma

Lusk also said that one of these guard will be a take, and that for now, one of these wings will be as well. We have no true targets at center, but will be adding a starter out of the portal, Kai Rogers is not expected to be the starter.

If we need 7-9 guys, Barrett would be a take for me- for depth and solid minutes.

But from all the guys in the portal, and he's the starting G with X, and the off-ball deep threat, we've missed big-time.

Absolutely agree. I highly doubt he would come to ou to be the 7th man though

Barrett transferring from Missouri makes no sense. Huge role as a starter and played well in SEC play.
