I think he could have averaged 16-18 a game if he just stayed aggressive. He was killer out of the mid-post.

Defense and rebounding only. Davis was a lazy and unaware rebounder. He was a solid on ball defender, but not a high IQ off ball and got beat on rescreens and switches on the regular.

Metrics back up the eye test on that side of the floor.

But PoMo told me he was going to win National DPOY

Gage Mayfield played tonight in the Iverson 24k Showcase & was one of the best players on the floor. Really good looking athlete, shot it well at 9/13 & 2/3 from 3 for 22 points.

Side note: Brock Morris just followed Gage’s teammate in this game, Martay Barnes, who signed with FSU. Not sure if there’s anything to be done there, just a note.

Mayfield's numbers are pretty efficient. Barns not so much. Barnes a 6'2" combo guard.

It seems to me that most of the "loud mouths" on the ON3 board who are insufferable aren't truly big b-ball fans. Many of them don't watch half the games, but the first time the team struggles, they come out in full force and use it as an opportunity to trash the program and take their pot shots. I don't expect too many of those kinds of posters over here. Fingers crossed.

Tae was a good player, he was just inconsistent. It appeared to me the inconsistency was mostly in focus and effort. IMO, his primary limitation was due to the lack of a consistent 3 point hot, and no mid range game. He was good at or around the rim for the most part. If he could get the right trainer and work round the clock on a few mid range shots to go with his dribble penetration game, I think he might could play in the NBA. Hard to ever see him becoming a good perimeter shooter, which is usually, but not always, a prerequisite to an NBA career.
