Transfer Portal 2027

Whatever happened to Notaburner?? He had a lot of portal intel last year....
October of last year. Hmmmm... I cant think of anything that would have ran them off. Anyone leave the program around that time? LOL

Why are we suddenly competing against Cincinnati for every player? Weird.

Hopefully them getting Riley and a few other guards leaves us with Wadley.

FYI, Wadley at #42, is 247's highest rated 2026 non-committed recruit.
I hope that's the case...although Cincy has a new coach. OU has a coach who was gifted another year, so hopefully that doesn't factor in. These days, it's not like a kid is tied down to any school, so he could easily transfer in the future if there was a coaching change...and he didn't care for the new hire. I'd be fine with adding a top 50 player for guard depth. And I like the fact that he's 6'4" and appears to be pretty athletic. Watching some of his videos, he looks like a combo guard and handled the ball a decent amount in AAU. Seems like a good driver of the ball, and has a decent looking outside shot. Plays with confidence (in the videos I saw).

Yaak Yaak looks like a reasonable option for a third center.

Wadley looks good for wing depth. I kind of expected us to pursue a senior one-year rental type for that role. But Wadley would be a high ceiling addition if he can stay healthy and get up to speed with the team quickly.

“Retention is vital for good teams but not bad ones” is kind of a hilarious interpretation of the data. Keep good players. Yeah.

If you can’t afford to upgrade your talent/fit, it is certainly better overall to retain than just cycle through players every year that don’t dramatically change your roster.

Brown
Pop
Reid
Rooths
Gak

Forsythe
Hendricks
Wadley
Mayfield
Rogers

Yaak
Keefe

Would love to pick up best player we can as the portal winds down with a focus on shooting or just general scoring punch

I hear the “12 is enough” crowd, but this team has:

2 true freshmen
1 center who didn’t score a point in conference play
1 center who played 15 mpg on a 17-16 team
