Transfer Portal 2027

The thing I like about this is that it puts pressure on Kai to show up and battle for that second spot.

No one wants to develop kids now, especially when the risk of them leaving is so high. Everyone wants the finished product and wants someone else to do the developing. If the kid isn't a near lottery pick, why waste time on him? Seems like today's mentality.
it is a very shortsighted approach and is bad for the game of basketball

It’s the natural outcome of free transfers and portal. Whether you want to or not, coaches have to do this to be competitive. Players aren’t going to sit for 3 years waiting their turn. Coaches have to win so they look for the best players possible. That means not waiting on guys to develop. It sucks but the environment has been created by poor leadership from the ncaa and the leaders of college athletics over the last generation.

WOW!
Is there a chance where we play Rogers or Gak at the 4?
Brown - Forsythe
Pop - Hendricks/Fr coming in.
Reid - Mayfield or Hendricks
Rooths - Rogers
Gak - Yak

I would have loved Devin Williams, but Yaak, like others have mentioned, is a nice 3rd center option. We need more decently athletic 6'10+ guys on the roster in this league. I just wish he was a better shot blocker.

Experienced big, couple years to play, and good free throw shooter. Hard to go wrong, particularly if you have other bigs. I really like Rogers (more than most on here). Gak's video looks pretty good as well.

We really messed up by not being able to say the "Yak Atak is back, Gak" as we come back in 2nd half in an SEC game.

Well that's what I meant.. some combination of those (3) bigs. Would think we play all of them plus Rooths at those two spots the whole season. Guessing that Reid won't slide down much now with this addition.

I like him as a third center. If he ends up as a first or second center, it's going to be a really tough year. Nice size to bridge the gap during foul trouble or short-term injury, but not a great defender and only okay athleticism / mobility.

Can yak play the 4 with rogers or yaak at thr 5
Yaak seems like he could play a traditional PF role. Not sure if he can guard the modern 4 position. Hard to say off of watching highlights. He looks to have exclusively played the 5 and Oregon St. He played in some 2 big lineups, but looks like he's playing the 5.

Yaak seems pretty good for a third big. I think our front court looks set and at least ok.

It appears that the last need is a scorer, probably from the wing. Maybe that's Wadley or Harris. But fortunately, serviceable guards aren't as scarce as bigs.
