Travis Ford signed a Juco shotblocker over OU?

Re: Travis Ford signed the a Juco shotblocker over OU?

He was on verbal commits as having received an offer from OU I believe.

Osu is signing 6-8 guys this year... #1-2 juco players. Allen and newberry. There class this year is pretty good when you add Terrell and burton...

They are still chasing a few jucos

OU was involved for awhile but had been out of the picture for a long time.

They will probably have the 2nd most talent in the Big 12 on paper. Luckily for OU, their coach is a goob.

When can we expect thebigabd to post his annual "they are way better than OU" proclamation?

Until I see a Juco inside guy play well at OU or OSU, it means nothing. I cannot remeber the last time one played well. Ace???

Lets not forget the OSU did have size this year, they just did not play them. They had a 7 footer on the bench and played a walkon over him.

Exactly syndro. And Ace wasn't a regular juco, he was an elite recruit who left Cincy.

Taj Gray

Yeah there's a reason these guys are in juco... I'm trying to remember an impact big man at OSU who came from juco....

Mario Boggan was good, but he went from Florida to juco to OSU, so don't know if that would count.

Maybe Maurice Robinson back in the day? I know he transferred in, but can't remember where from.

To my knowledge, the guy is a piece of work. Went down and took a nap behind the bench during one game.

He'll fit in at osu.

Gray was good. Juan Patillo was a good player, just couldn't stay out of his own way off the court.

Yes Taj, I would agree. Did not think of him.

What about Longer Longer? Tried to google, but was not showing me the player. But did come up with some strange looking links.

It's spelled Longar, and he wasn't a juco guy.

Mizzou had a 6-11 juco post guy sign last year. Rated higher than this guy was. He was supposed to come in and be an all-conference type center.

He played 8 minutes per game.

Juco big men are typically pretty awful. Especially these 6-11+ types. If he was any good, he'd be absolutely dominant. His block numbers are good. That's probably more than just simple height. But it's not going to translate into a productive all-around player in the Big 12. More likely he'll come in for 8-10 minutes/game, block a shot or two, foul a couple times then sit back down and watch OSU lose.
