I really wish WCBB would make the move back to two halves. It ended up working out more like high school basketball than the WNBA. Any expected benefits of switching to quarters do not seem evident. Low scoring games and routs seem to be even more commonplace.

We are the only country to have halves. Men's game likely to be quarters in a year.

I don't mind the quarters. I do dislike the 5 fouls in each quarter to get in the bonus. Theoretically, a team could foul 9 times (4 in 1st quarter and 5 in 2nd) before their opponent gets a free throw.

Collegiate basketball needs quarters so as to have more commercial time outs.

I love the 4 quarters system.

It actually has cut down on the number of TV timeouts - one of the reasons it was adopted.

This speeds up the game - which for those of us who attend many games is very pleasing.

It also discourages fouling since they become so costly quickly. Then when the quarter ends a team or player can reflect on the cost and get it under control.

Unfortunately it does give officials even more ability to impact games.

Along with it came the elimination of the one and one. I hated the one and one. Too much Hack a Shaq.

I agree.
