Upcoming season's starting five

I think she'll play off the ball a lot, and she may run some backup point this year and next depending on how Penzo progresses. Veitenheimer is our next starting Point guard I think.

We all know Sherri dabbles some with experimentation in the early games. I think she will do just that this year.

If I had to guess for the early games -- pre conference -- I would say this is a strong possibility of the starting five:

Vivi
Manning
Simpson
Lluanusa
Rich

The reason I say that is that Simpson gives another scorer/rebounder at the 4, which we need. EJ is clearly going to back up Vivi, there is no one else to do it.

You can't not start Lluanusa. She's just too good and Gabbi got sent to the bench last year, especially early.

Vivi and Manning are locks and I think Rich gets her chance early.

The only change I see as we head into the meat of the season is Pellington for Rich or Pellington for Simpson. She's in for Simpson if Sherri wants to go to a 4 guard, which we all know she likes.

But if Rich is good as the 2, then Sherri has the luxury of playing another big to help us rebound, which was a problem last year.

And since we are short on bigs, Sherri needs to get Simpson a lot of time early in case she's forced into action because of someone else's bad play or injury.

I really hope that Rich is a good player for us this year. I've looked at her videos and she appears to be athletic, can shoot outside or take it inside and i've even heard it said that she's the best shooter on the team. I just don't understand why she didn't play last year if what they said was true...

If Morgan Rich scores a point for every tweet, she will be All-Conference.

She sure will be, Syb. I think she is the most interesting enigma on the team. Is she as good as billed? Is she a dud who can only shoot the ball? Why didn't she play last year? Is she healthy? Is she in Sherri's doghouse (where players go to die)? Can she just not handle the smarts of D-1 ball?

There are a lot of questions for her to answer. I hope she gets the chance. It would be good for the team if she can come through.
