She had 15 points in her game last night. I will try and update as I can.

JOHNSON 61,

BROOKLET – Ijeoma Odimgbe recorded 15 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks to lead Johnson past Southeast Bulloch.

Ashleigh Simmons had 11 points and six steals and Alexis Pierce added 10 points and four steals for the Atom Smashers.

Destiny Burke had 15 points for the Yellow Jackets.

JOHNSON (61)

Alexis Pierce 10, Parker 4, James 2, Ashleigh Simmons 11, Williams 8, Ijeoma Odimgbe 15, Mitchell 6.

SE BULLOCH (27)

Roberson 4, Destiny Burke 15, Cotton 6, Wilkerson 2.

Halftime—Johnson, 36-14. Records—Johnson 12-5, 8-1 Region 1-AAA.

12 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 blocks on the season.... should give Ou a shot blocker, If she can play some 4, then Odimgbe and Mulkey could be having a block party in the paint...

Did you notice in the article where it said she was on Oklahoma State commit?

raheem912zz: @SoonersWBB JOHNSON 69, TATTNALL 25
Senior Ijeoma Odimgbe had 22 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks as Johnson rolled past Tattnall

Sherri hasn't played two big together in years, but if Odimgbe is any good, I think she could start in place of Campbell-Olds. Kornet would be my 1st guess, but sounds like Odimgbe will give us something I don't think OU has since Jeffcoats/Gibbs.

I don't know that next year will make anything obvious. Kornet will still be here, and she may come into her own as a senior. We don't know what Kellogg might do or where she will fit.

For Ijeoma, it is more interesting to project where she might fit in the three years that she will spend with McKenna and Vivi, as well as the three years that she will spend with Nancy. Who fits where and with whom? We know that McKenna and Nancy can play facing the basket. We aren't sure about Ijeoma and Vivi. High-low post passing becomes interesting involving such tall players.

Have to think if Odimgbe is as talented and as mobile as being reported.
We may see two posts sometimes for OU.
Like today when OU was getting abused on the boards.
it almost seems silly to suggest but Mulkey at the high post with her mid range jumper
and passing skill could be awesome.

I know I'm in the minority here but I don't want Mulkey getting more than 5ft from the basket on either end of the court.

Norm,
No I think you are right on conventionally speaking.
Especially if Sherri sticks with one post and 4 guards.

If Ijeoma is as advertised, I wouldn't be surprised to see Nancy at the high post on offense. She can hit consistently from there on a short jumper, and her vision on passes is pretty good. If Ijeoma can simply catch and shoot layups, she may get all she wants. It should also draw the opposing post out from under the basket where Gioya, Maddie, and Gabbi could drive to the rim without a big in the way.

On defense, you let Nancy stay underneath with her arms held high. Shooting over her requires a rainbow.

I saw on Twitter. She had 21 pts, 18 reb, 11 blocks last night. Wow.

Can she play forward? Would that be a good spot for her(athletically speaking)?

Kay Kay is introduced as a forward. We introduce nobody as a post. It is becoming commonplace for a team to have forwards and no center. I wonder if Sherri will even consider Mulkey a post? I think we will have two forwards on the floor.

I could see us going two bigs with her. If we have quality depth, which we should really have for the next 4 years. Sherri seems to be more willing to try to shake it up a bit than she has been for the last 4.

I know, she loves a 4-guard set. But when you have that kind of big talent, it would be stupid not to take advantage of that. Plus, it will just make our guards even better.

Even if Sherri doesn't plan on starting two post players, I'm sure she will if we sign Cox to go along with Mulkey....
