But I also expected it. I wanted him as HC when we hired Capel and I think our program would be so much further down the road than it is now but oh well.
I was very impressed with Pledger, he can actually play defense! And, Fitz can rebound! Who would have thought?
I was very impressed with Newell and he has proven he is a 2 guard and not a PG. Capel almost ruined him playing him at PG when he doesn't have that skill set. He is as good offensively as he was advertised and he is going to get better.
Osby is very good, but certainly not the level Capel tried to make him out to be. Obvious, he was trying to save his job to keep the gravy train paychecks deposited in his account.
Clark has progressed and I like his mid range game. Blair plays sparingly which is also good, and Grooms is very good. Late in the game he had 9 assists to only one turnover. That is very good, and we never saw that level of PG play last year.
Arent isn't as good as I hoped but he will improve, and Washington and Honore make nice complementary players.
I think this team could sneak into the big dance if they keep improving. Definite NIT team at the minimum.
