Wake Forest canning Manning...

^Should have left off the "Forest."

No surprise (really). Got the big head and dumped Tulsa and Wake returned the favor.

He did a terrible job. It makes sense.

The only thing that is strange is the timing of it. These things usually happen in March.

I actually punished myself and watched the entire 1988 national championship game, so I'm glad I can now have some measure of schadenfreude today lol.

Wake has fell on hard times since the Tim Duncan, CP3, and Randolph Childress days

Wake has completely tanked as a program Since Dave Odom was there in the 90's and early 2000's...

They hired Jeff Bzdelik who had done a great job at Air Force and Colorado, and were AWFUL. They fired Bzdelik, and hired Manning, who had done a good job at Tulsa, and continued to be awful.

They have had 2 winning seasons in the past 10. And that was a 17-16 under Bzdelik and a 19-14 season under Manning.

before he died, Skip Proesser had some good Wake teams in the 2000's and they canned Dino Gaudio after a good season as well. DG had a highly regarded recruiting class coming...was the storyline at the time.

i lived in Boulder when Bzdelik was at AFA and CU. He was OK....he inherited a really good senior class from Joe Scott (who was a Princeton guy) and had a couple very good AFA teams and his CU teams were terrible. I don't see why he gets credit for much of anything he did at CU outside securing a commitment to facilities from the admin.

he got a couple good players on campus and gets praised for a rebuild of the program....but my opinion is that isn't entirely deserved. they finished last in the big 12 a couple times. even Ricardo Patton generally finished in the middle of the league.

i think it was a bad move for Wake/great thing for CU when BZ took the Wake job.
